John H. McDonnell O.S.A.
President
To the Senior Class,
It is with mixed emotions that we take any new and larger step along our
search through the mysterious paths of our lives. Hopefully we have all grown
through our association, our misunderstandings and disagreements, our shar-
ing and searching, our quest for the meaning of our lives, for the identity
which is ours, for the proper role of Biscayne College in our lives and in the
world.
Biscayne has gone through much the same turmoil and uncertainty with
which any man faces his four years of college. Just as each of you has, so also
Biscayne has faltered, responded with varying degrees of certainty and crea-
tivity, with more vision now than four years ago . . . or even one year ago . . .
with determined and searching attempts to meet the needs of a rapidly ex-
panding age. We can say one thing, at least, of our years together, we have
tried and tried together. Together we have grown and matured and come clos-
er together in striving for our place in the sun.
Now that you are graduating into the world, you must continue to grow just
as Biscayne must. It is my hope that we may do so together still, sharing our
search, helping each other to meet the goals we have set for ourselves and to
expand the horizons which we have settled upon.
On behalf of Biscayne College Community I give you my congratulations
and wish you all the success in the years to come.
Sincerely yours in Christ,
John H. McDonnell O.S.A.

Madam Vargas
LOGOS 7 1 Proudly Salutes . .
26
Dear Madam Vargas, a compassionate person and teacher,Many people enter our life and according to the time and event have different effects
on us. Teachers are a group of people whose very vocation calls on them to reach outand to lead, to touch, to change the student. Madam Vargas, you are one of many teach-ers, that we will meet during our school experience. But you are also one of those specialfew whose effect will be more than just for the moment. This is impossible to measure —this change, this impact, that you effect on your students; but we only have to ask our-selves are we different because of the experience of meeting you Madam Vargas. To thiswe must emphatically say yes.
In peace,
Your Students
