NEW REQUIREMENTS FOR 2015 REPORTING
Federal Clery Act Regulations/Revisions to CA Ed Code
Requires institutions of higher education to comply with certain campus safety and security
requirements as a condition for federal financial aid and Cal Grant funding
Aimed at curbing sexual assault, domestic violence, dating violence and stalking
Added gender identity and national origin as categories of bias for hate crime reporting
Expansion of policies on Awareness and Prevention Programs for the college community
Requires disciplinary hearings on alleged incidents of domestic and dating violence, sexual
assault and stalking to be prompt, fair and impartial
Goal is to provide safer college campuses

Assist by
Issuing Summary Suspensions
Enforcing the Student Code of Conduct
Referring students as a result of contact with campus police
Participating in conduct hearings and appeals as requested
47 Students have been referred to the Director of Student Discipline
& Student Life

IMPLEMENTATION OF A
BEHAVIORAL INTERVENTION TEAM
A majority of educational institutions have a collaborative team that discusses, investigates,
evaluates and monitors student behavior
This is handled by the Director of Student Discipline & Student Life and Campus Police
This team provides additional resources and coordination for the health and safety of the college
community

Reviewed and updated evacuation guidelines for persons with disabilities
Recommended the assessment of all door locking capabilities
Reviewed various signage options on campus related to safety and security
Initiated the redesign of the emergency procedures classroom posters
Evaluated various emergency phone applications for personal devices
