• Choose a date and time for your event.
• Advertise your event in your newsletter and on your website.
• Make copies of the Invitation (Reproducible A) and fold each sheet into quarters so that Ricky and his Mighty Robot appear on the front. Hand out the invitations, keep a stack of them next to the register, and/or send them to people on your mailing list. Use the Store Event Sign (Reproducible B) in addition to the invitation. Feature it next to the register or in your window.

ONE WEEK AHEAD:
• Photocopy a supply of the coloring and activity sheets (Reproducibles C–G) and the Answer Key (Reproducible H) included in this planner.

SET THE SCENE
When decorating, find ideas from the book. Transform your event space into Squeakyville— you can even decorate with cardboard-box robots. For an out-of-this-world look, hang paper stars, moons, and planets on the walls or from the ceiling.
Encourage staff and guests to wear mouse-eared headbands, round black glasses, and eye patches to dress up like Ricky, his Mighty Robot, or Dr. Stinky!
For refreshments, consider some book-inspired treats: Serve individual cheese slices and label a bowl of snack mix as “Robot Nuts and Bolts.”
