Ted Reinstein Book TalkWednesday May 17, 7:00pm – Main Library, Costin Room

Since 1995, Ted Reinstein has been a reporter for Boston’s WCVB-TV’s Chronicle, the nation’s longest-running locally-produced nightly newsmagazine. His first book, New England Notebook: One Reporter, Six States, Uncommon Stories, was released in 2013. In 2016, Ted’s second book, Wicked Pissed: New England’s Most Famous Feuds was released. His third book, all about New England’s iconic general stores will be released this fall. Refreshments.

Poetry WorkshopLed by Alan Feldman, Professor Emeritus at Framingham State Univ.Tuesdays May 2, 9, 16, 23, and 30, 7-9:00pm – Main Library, Trustees Room (May 2 in J Program Room)This drop-in class welcomes serious poets of all ages and levels of experience who would like to participate for one or more sessions. Each session begins with a discussion of a topic in poetry leading to a brief in-class assignment. Poets who wish to have their work discussed need to provide copies to distribute during the session. Early American Cinema 1897-1925: The Vitagraph Company Guest Speaker: Curt MartinThursday May 4, 7:00pm – Main Library, Costin RoomThe Vitagraph motion picture company was one of the pioneering silent film companies in the US and for a time was the most prolific and most successful. The company introduced feature length films, art films, comedies, special effects and animation. In 1925, Vitagraph was sold to Warner Brothers. Refreshments.

Artist’s Reception Wednesday May 3, 5:00-6:30pm – Main Library FoyerWorks by Robert D. McArthur will be on display this month at the Main Library. Please join us to meet the artist, view his work, and enjoy some refreshments.

The show will feature fashion accessories from Under the Same Moon, a foundation promoting the work of Guatemalan artisans.
