Changes from Prelim to Final

ProductSince the Preliminary Task I have done a lot more research on music

magazines as well as magazine structure in general. Compared to my Preliminary task my product is a lot more professionally designed and would fit in a lot better on the shelves in a shop. I looked over feedback that I gained from my preliminary documents from my target audience and acted upon them by applying it to my final designs. I have been basing my final designs on examples from The Source magazine as I was drawn towards this company and feel their designs would appeal to my young male target audience. My Preliminary documents are a lot more basic in design with no real interesting features on them. My Prelim designs just stick to conventions and don’t really provide anything special to the reader, where as my final designs challenge these conventions and give an individual look to the magazine. This is especially true on my contents page, which shows no real relation to my preliminary contents page, as I received feedback saying the contents page was boring, and so I decided to base my contents page on an image giving it a unique look.

Through out the Tasks I have learnt how to use different software such as Photoshop and InDesign to enhance my documents and give them a more professional look. I have also learnt how to take professional photos using the different shot types and angles that we have learnt in lesson. Finally I have learnt how to keep an effective blog and track the steps I have taken througnout the process, by providing constant posts and giving thorough information using a range of software such as Slideshare, Scribd and Prezzi.
