He appreciates the members of staff of LWA for their steadfast dedication in the
delivery of their duties. He prays that God will continue to bless them with wisdom so

Mr. Chairman wishes to implore our esteemed parents to maintain the support they
have always given to the Academy as they play a pivotal role in the development of
the child from the home front. He wishes to intimate our parents of some new
innovation by the Academy geared towards improving our scholars academically.
These initiative include; our Monday Mathematics Wizard (MMW), Lordswill English
Drills (LED) and Science-Tech Wizard (STEW) amongst others.
The Chairman is appealing to parents to always pay school fees on time so as to aid
the Academy in the proper planning of the school’s activities and to enable the
Academy serve them better. He is appealing to parents who are yet to clear the 2nd
term fees to please do so, thus avoiding accumulation.
He is also reminding parents that he is fully on ground in the school and his doors are
widely open to any parent willing to see or discuss any academic and moral matters of
his/her ward(s) with him.
ACADEMICS
The second term 2018/2019 academic session was loaded with activities but highly
disrupted by the several holiday breaks caused by the 2019 elections. We are
grateful to God because we were still very much able to meet up with our scheme of
3
work for the term. We appreciate our members of staff and also our excellent
scholars for their performances in 2nd term Quality Assurance and examinations. The
benchmark of the Academy still remains seventy percent (70%) and this was met by
the most of the scholars.
The 70% LWA benchmark remains constant and we assure you that we will always
make learning more simplified and child-oriented.
Below is our activity schedule for the 2nd term 2018/2019 academic year. This

assist their wards do more revisions at home.
EXTENSION CLASSES
Extension classes for the pupils of Primary 5, JSS 3 and SSS 3 is ongoing during
this break in the Academy. Time is 9:00am – 2:00pm. This is to adequately prepare
our scholars for their external examinations. Parents are expected to drop off and
pick their wards accordingly.
We also encourage parents to help scholars do revisions at home so as to keep
their brains fresh for the forthcoming external examinations. We assure our
parents that our scholars will come out with flying colours after these exams.
COMPETITIONS
In LWA, we deliberately involve and engage our scholars in both internally and
externally organized competitions. This is aimed at exposing them to different
spheres of the society as well as giving them the opportunity to mingle and relate
with their counterparts.
7
The introduction of our Monday Mathematics Wizard (MMW), Lordswill English
Drills (LED) and Science-Tech Wizard (STEW), our scholars are now in love with
English, Mathematics and Sciences. We issue out certificate to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd
positions in each class weekly.
In the course of 2nd term, 2018/2019 Academic Session, we had our English and
French Spelling Bee competitions. Other competitions were the MMW, LED,
STEW, Cowbellpedia and American Mathematics.
We look forward to involving our scholars in more competitions come 3rd term
2018/2019 Academic Session as so many interesting and educative competitions
are in the pipeline.
RELIGIOUS MORALS
In a bid to continuously develop our scholars’ character, we have introduced the
celebration of Masses in the school. The Priest celebrated Mass at the end of the
term for both our staff and scholars. This trend will be maintained as consent
letters will always be sent to parents for their approval. This event will occur
thrice each term.
BIBLE/QURAN VERSES
We wish to intimate our parents that all plans has been concluded for the smooth
take off of a Bible/Quran session for the scholars on a weekly basis where they
will be made to study the holy books according to the faith and then memorize a
memory verse for the week. It promises to be morally and spiritually enriching.
Parents are encouraged to get either of the holy books for their wards.
EASTER CLASS PARTY
“All work without play makes Jack a dull boy”. At the end of the term, after the
rigorous academic and extra-curricular activity sessions, scholars took time out
when they had their Easter Class Party on Friday being the 5th day of April, 2019.
It was a fun-filled day.
We appreciate our esteemed parents for the show of love and support which led to
the successful outing of the day.
8
INTER-HOUSE SPORTS
The inter-house sports will hold in third term, 2018/2019 academic session. We
had too much breaks due to the 2019 elections and so decided that it be postponed
to third term. The date is the 9th of May, 2019.
We are appealing to our parents to please pay up for sport T-shirts so that our
scholars will appear elegantly on the day.
PARTNERSHIPS
Aside our academic environment, we are constantly exposing our scholars to
different spheres of the society. We engage them with our numerous partners who
come into the school to sensitize them on various areas of life. Over the years, we
witnessed the likes of Dettol, Milo, One 2 Ten project, Hollandia yogurt, the
Nigerian Red Cross Society, Society for Family Health, Indomie, African Union,
etc, who came into our campus for different programmes. Our scholars are kept
abreast on the various trends in the society with these partners who create
awareness on different issues in the community.
DEBATE
In order to achieve our goal of a holistic child development, grooming our
students/pupils on public speaking skills is a deliberate and well planned programme
by the Academy. With this, we continually organize debates for them both at intra
and inter-class bases. This, we believe, will help them to improve on their public
speaking skills, composure and critical thinking.
Our two English and Diction teachers are always on ground, teaching both the
scholars and members of staff to articulate their words correctly.
CLUBS
Our Club programmes are highly commendable as the execution of our outlined
activities are always well carried out. These clubs carry out extra-curricular
9
activities which help develop the inner potentials of our scholars. It is mandatory
for scholars to belong to various clubs of their choices. We therefore advise our
esteemed parents to join in our campaign of the total child development as they
key into our vision by encouraging them to participate fully in the activities of
these clubs.
We are happy to inform our esteemed parents of the introduction of the LWA
Football Academy. Parents are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity.
EDUCATIONAL VISITS
It is said that “travelling is part of education”, in the course of 2nd term,
2018/2019 academic session, our Secondary school students visited the ECOWAS
Parliament for their excursion, while the Preschool and Primary pupils visited the
Federal Fire service station all in Abuja. Both educational visits were informative,
educative and fun filled.
We laud our parents who stood by us during this wonderful outing
COMMUNICATION BOOK
The use of the Communication Book as a link between the school and home is a
standard we have maintained and will keep it up. Your response to our observations
and issues raised will enable us offer you the very best. Kindly communicate using
this medium any time a child is on medication and any official issues that concerns
your child(ren) as non-written communication shall not be honoured. We plead once
again that you endorse the relevant portion of the book on a daily basis. Feel free
to indicate your area(s) of concern and useful suggestions.
We have noticed that some students have refused to avail their parents the
Communication Book. In such a case, notify the school authority and demand for it.
It is a school – parents’ communication book and is meant to enhance free flow of
information as well as aid prompt interventions as the case may be.
10
UNIFORMS
LWA uniform is her identity! As part of our standards and quality assurance,
students/pupils are expected to come into school well groomed at all times. On the
strength of this, we solicit that parents make conscious efforts towards procuring
at least two sets of uniforms for their child(ren) at the beginning of every
academic year. We enjoin parents of returning scholars, in particular, to please
check the uniforms of their child(ren)/ward(s) and kindly replace faded, tattered
and torn uniforms. Undersized shorts, skirts, pinafores or trousers are not
accepted. Note that children grow at a very fast rate and outgrow their wears too.
Please, also note that there are slight changes in the prizes of these uniforms; this
is because of the new order (purchase) made. Furthermore, school shoes are
covered black shoes with no heels and white canvas for sports days. The approved
socks are plain white socks. (Available in the school store) Please, only pin earrings
(small studded) are allowed for girls and well kept hair cut for the boys.
LWA DRESS CODE
We wish to appeal to our esteemed parents to help us ensure that scholars comply
with the school’s dress code and hairstyles. All students are expected to dress in
their complete uniforms, black shoes, white ankle socks and blazer for the
secondary. The girls must adhere to the hairstyle at all times, while the boys are
to appear in neat low haircut. Defaulting students will not be allowed into the
school premises as enforcement will be from the gate henceforth. We therefore
appeal to parents to ensure compliance while thanking you for your usual
cooperation.
OPEN DAY/ PARENTS’ FORUM
We sincerely apologize to our parents on our inability to have these two activities,
as they were disrupted by the 2019 elections. We needed more time to face
academic upon resumption so as to cover our schemes.
Thank you esteemed parents for your understanding. We hope that in 3rd term
these events will take place.
11
QUALITY ASSURANCE/CONTINUOUS ASSESSMENT & EXAMINATION
In LWA, we do not compromise with our bench mark. Our benchmark remains 70%.
We assure our esteemed parents that all parameters are in place to enable us
achieve the above benchmark. We enjoin every parent to keep partnering with us
by playing their roles from the home front. This will enable us serve you better.
The 2018/2019 academic session was a huge success as we recorded great
performances by scholars. This, we believe you can attest to because it is
reflected on our scholars’ Quality Assurance Assessment, Continuous Assessment
and Examination of this term. This standard we assure you, will be sustained.
FRIDAY THEMES
As part of our strategies in achieving the goal of our total child development, we
constantly execute our Friday Theme activities. Our Friday Themes are second to
none. In 2nd term 2018/2019, we witnessed Friday themes such as; LWA Reading
Week, LWA International Flag Week, LWA Healthy Living Week, LWA Maths
Week, etc.
These themes which are given to scholars allow them to make research and do the
presentation on the assembly grounds thus, building their confidence, especially in
public speaking.
We say a big thank you to our esteemed parents for the support given to us and
their wards in seeing to it that our desired goals were met. We count on your
continuous support.
DISCIPLINE
We have sustained a more disciplined atmosphere so far this term, considering the
fact that over the years, there has been significant improvement in scholars’
discipline. We attribute this to the support of most parents who in partnership
with us, inculcate sound morals in the children. We sincerely encourage our
esteemed parents to continue with this laudable practice at home as we promise to
keep counseling and correcting them on unacceptable and unusual behahviour, thus
producing better Nigerian children. We use this medium to appeal to parents to
12
always make sure that their wards’ (the boys) hair is cut low at all time, while the
girls should keep a nice and well plaited hairdo in tune with the style of the week.
LATENESS TO SCHOOL
We must commend the efforts of our parents on the improvement
we have noticed in punctuality in the last term. Our expectations are high, so, we
still appeal that more commitment be made, since this forms part of our character
development training for LWA scholars. Resumption time is on or before 7:45am
and all students are expected to be in school latest by 7:30am daily. We appeal to
parents to please assist the school to entrench punctuality in our children.
Remember, lateness to any programme is globally taken as indiscipline.
As a follow-up, the policy of locking the school gate after 8:00am or requesting
defaulting parents to sign in their wards will fully be enforced. Please note that
where this becomes a routine, the parent(s) in question shall be requested to meet
with the school management team for conferencing.
SPORT DAYS
The need to exercise the body cannot be over emphasis. This is why we select
special days for sporting activities so as to make our scholars fit for their day to
day activities. Our sport day for Pre-school, Lower Primary and Secondary is every
Wednesday, while Upper Primary is every Thursday. Scholars are to appear in their
sport wears on these days. Parents whose ward’s sport wears are worn-out are
advised to purchase new ones.
We thank you for your usual cooperation.
13
VOCATIONAL DEPARTMENT
Our Vocational Department has skilfully engaged our scholars over the years. We
assure our esteemed parents that we shall continually maintain our scholars’
entrepreneurial skills through various activities and well packaged programmes in
the Vocational Department to enrich their skills. Entrepreneurial skills cannot be
over emphasized in our today’s world. That is why we believe in equipping our
scholars to face the society as they graduate from the Academy. This Department
is well equipped so as to develop the talents and skills embedded in our scholars.
This, we achieve by the use of waste materials, natural resources within the
environs as well as the use of the computer. These materials and resources include;
newspapers, raffia palm, clay and the likes. Our scholars are also taught how to
bake, make natural fruit juice, liquid soap, izal, odour control, shampoo, body
creams amongst others.
We appeal to our esteemed parents to encourage their wards to carry out
whatsoever they have learnt in school at home. Parents should please provide them
with necessary materials.
The Vocational Department promises to keep upgrading to meet the trend of the
day as we grow.
END OF TERM ASSIGNMENT/PROJECTS
We appreciate the support and efforts of our esteemed parents in working with us
at seeing that scholars always do and submit their projects/assignment on time.
Our end of term assignments were included in students’ result packs for the term.
We encourage parents to assist scholars to complete all assignment. Scholars are
expected to submit them upon resumption. We wish to remind parents that
assignment/projects form part of scholars’ scores at the end of the term.
We appeal to parents to always stick to the deadlines for submission of these
projects and assignment. Minimal adult guidance/assistance is allowed (where
necessary) whenever these projects and assignment are given.
LWA SAPPHIRE CRÈCHE (4 MONTHS and ABOVE)
Our crèche service is second to none. Our crèche is fully air-conditioned and well
equipped for your baby’s safety and pleasure. We still have very few available
spaces on a first come, first serve basis. Don’t miss the opportunity of this
conducive, safe and serene environment for your baby.
14
MENTORING (PRIMARY AND SECONDARY)
In LWA, we explore all legal avenues to achieving our goal of holistic child
development. This is why the compulsory mentoring in the Primary and Secondary
sections of the Academy has been result-oriented and it is sustained. This
mentoring holds every Thursday between 3pm – 4pm. We wish to remind our
beloved parents that the closing time for this day is by 4:00pm for pick up of their
wards. Kindly cooperate with us so that we can serve you better. We thank you for
keying into our vision.
BUS SERVICE
We thank our esteemed parents who make use of our bus shuttle. We appeal to all
our parents whose children use the bus service to please always make payment
before the resumption of any term so as to enable us have adequate
preparation for a smooth take off of the term. Note that scholars who do not
pay by resumption shall not be picked or returned. We are thanking you for your
prompt response. To assist us serve you better, parents are encouraged to always
counsel their wards on best behaviour during bus shuttle. Parents should always
make ready their wards before the arrival of the bus as a minute extra spent in
one house definitely distorts the routine of that particular bus.
We are appealing to parents who do not use the bus service to always pick up their
wards immediately the school closes. We have observed that some parents still
pick up their ward(s) late after school hours. This is not healthy for our scholars.
We also use this medium to appeal to parents not to allow minors to drive their
ward(s) to school.
LOST BUT FOUND ITEMS
This is to remind our parents and guardians that some misplaced items (cardigans,
school ties, blazers, water bottles etc) are in the school store. Parents are advised
to kindly visit the store for identification, confirmation and collection. Please note
that evidence of ownership shall be required for collection. Labeling of ward’s item
for easy identification is highly recommended.
15
CONFERENCING
Conferencing has over the years created an enabling platform for the school and
parents to dialogue on issues affecting our scholars. This trend shall always be
operational in the Academy. We appreciate our esteemed parents who have always
responded to invitation for conferencing and appeal to others to always respond to
this call. We wish to remind you that the duty of raising a child is a collaborative
effort of both the parents and the school. To enable us achieve this great task,
parents should always take conferencing as a platform to dialogue and partner with
the school to bring out the best in the children. We advise our parents to take
advantage of this great opportunity.
DISRUPTION OF CLASSES BY PARENTS
In line with our school’s policy, no parent is allowed into the class unless on special
occasion as maybe permitted by the school authority. Parents are therefore,
advised to ensure scholars come to school with their lunch packs. Better still, lunch
boxes can be dropped with the Front Desk Officer of the School for onward
delivery to child(ren).
We wish to notify our esteemed parents to always sit in the school hall as they
come for pick up of their ward(s) at closing hours. We assure you that our staff
shall always be on the alert to attend to you. We thank parents for their
cooperation.
BALLET CLUB
Ballet is an artistic dance form performed to music which requires precise
and highly formalized set steps and gestures. In LWA, we strive for
excellence in all that we engage in. The club’s performances in the course of
16
the term were awesome. We believe that this will go a long way in promoting
a better posture, sculpts and tone as well as develop the body of scholars.
Other benefits include; relief of stress, body flexibility and creative
expression of the body. We encourage parents to allow their ward(s) to key
into this great club of ours.
Ballet Club is fun-filled and interesting, come join us!
GYMNASTIC CLUB
Gymnastics is a sport practiced by men and women that requires balance,
strength, flexibility, agility, coordination, endurance and control. The
movement in gymnastics contributes to the development of so many parts of
the body such as; the arms, legs, back, shoulders, chest etc. It also aids in
the development of self-confidence, self-discipline, alertness etc. This is
why in LWA, we give our scholars an enabling environment to get involved in
this wonderful sport. The LWA gymnastics club is waxing stronger each day,
as scholars have fun while keeping themselves fit through this sport for
their day to day activities. We encourage parents to avail their wards this
great opportunity, you never can tell, your ward(s) could go global through
this club.
ENTREPRENEURSHIP
Our Entrepreneurship Club is geared towards equipping our scholars with skills to
be able to fit into our present day economy. We do not only prepare them
academically but also sharpen their skills to becoming entrepreneurs. In this club,
scholars are taught to make some cleaning agents, coconut oil, coconut chips, zobo
drink, smoothie and baking. Items made by the scholars were displayed for
17
marketing in the school compound which some parents patronized. We say a big
thank you.
We assure our esteemed parents that we are well equipped for Entrepreneurial
Club next term.
SPEECH ELOCUTION/COMPREHENSION
In LWA, we strive to maintain the global standards. In order to boost our scholars’
fluency in spoken and written English, our phonics and diction teachers are well
equipped for the task, thus teaching our scholars to articulate and speak at the
right diction. This will continue to give our scholars an age over their counterparts.
VOLUNTEERING
We say a very big thank you to our esteemed parents for being there for us and
for the supports over the years. The term witnessed great support from parents in
different areas. The class party support was impeccable. We encourage our
esteemed parents to continue partnering with us so as to enable us safeguard the
future of our children.
We continue to solicit your volunteering in any way e.g. fueling of the school buses
and power plant, getting of books for the library, facilitating of training session
for both scholars and members of staff, purchase of water for our water
dispensers etc as we resume for 3rd term academic session.
LWA TUCKSHOP
Our TUCKSHOP (School Canteen) is being sustained as we stock assorted snacks
and drinks for your ward’s refreshment. Some snacks include;
Optional snacks
Scotch eggs
Sausage rolls
Doughnuts
Meat pie
Fruit salad
Smoothies
Birthday cakes and assorted birthday snacks
Drinks of assorted types
Fruit/smoothies – N5,000.00 per scholar for a term.
Please note that every child is expected to benefit from the school’s fruit and
smoothies services three times a week. Fruit salad will be given two times while
smoothies will be served once a week.
For the purchase of snacks, soft drinks, juice and other materials, parents are
advised to effect payment in the account department for proper documentation.
18
Remember that scholars are not allowed to bring money to school. Adherence to
the above arrangement will be highly appreciated and will assist us to serve you
better.
DYNAMIC PROGRAMME
This programme has been fully initiated in LWA. Some scholars have been
identified as challenged in Mathematics, English and Sciences through our
checklist assessment. Strategies have been put in place to help the scholars
concerned manage their areas of weakness and still maintain the same pace with
their mates.
We had conferencing with the parents of the concerned scholars. This is to enable
us collaborate with the scholars’ parents for an excellent result. So far, a lot has
been put in place since the inception of this programme and we believe that parents
are seeing the result.
LWA has introduced an innovative way to help scholars with learning difficulties
with the establishment of the Dynamic Unit (Part of Special Education Needs
Unit). One of the aims of the Department is to ensure that all our scholars can
access the curriculum readily and work to their full potentials. These pupils have
been placed on an Individual Educational Plan (IEP). This is a teaching and learning
plan that sets targets and actions for the scholars. This plan is different from, or
in addition to other plans that are in place for the class. At LWA, we believe that
it is very important for parents and scholars to be involved and aware of the
targets set in the plan. The IEP allows us to plan for progression, monitor the
effectiveness of teaching and the provision for additional support. The Dynamic
pupils’ academic, social and behavioral performances for the last two terms speak
for the unit and are evident in their results. Parents are strongly advised to track
our progression as we promise to sustain this programme.
PARENTAL GUIDE
We strongly advise our esteemed parents to play their role from the home front in
guiding and monitoring their wards. We recommend that parents should checkmate
and control the use of phone by their child(ren). We have observed that in the
secondary section, our students have created a whatsapp platform, which is not a
bad idea. Our concerns are the type of discussion they have on such a platform.
Parents are also advised to monitor the type of friends their wards keep, where
they go and the type of activities they engage in.
As partners in the development of the total child, your support and contribution is
paramount.

to parents to make payment so as to enable us meet our financial obligations
and also serve you better.
NOTE TO PARENTS
Parents are advised to relax and spend this yuletide with their children as
this is a period of family reunion.
Parents should please help their ward(s) to reduce or discontinue cartoon
watching when school is in session. Same applies to languages used at home
because children learn from their environs, that is, what they see and hear.
We also advise our esteemed parents to watch with keen interest the kind
of friends their child(ren) keep and places they go to as kidnapping is on the
increase.
We appeal to parents to adhere to the directives from our security men
while dropping off and picking their children so as not to block the entrance
into the school and also to ease traffic.
In order to avoid misplacement of books, parents are encouraged to always
monitor books brought home by their ward(s) and also ensure complete
return of those books to school.
20
Parents are encouraged to always make effort to give their children food as
they come to school as breakfast is a very important meal.
Parents are please advised to get age appropriate story books, French,
Hausa, Igbo, Yoruba and English dictionaries as well as Revised Standard
Version Bible for their wards.
We strongly advise our esteemed parents to always create and spend time
with their children as they need parental guide, company and
warmth/friendship.
Parents should please monitor the manner in which the Child(ren) make use
of their phones and tablets.
Parents are advised to visit the School’s Store and identify missing items of
their wards.
We appeal to parents to always inscribe names on their children’s belongings
for easy identification in cases of misplacement of items.
