FOLLOW US JOURNAL OF TM a MACE Media Publication Loren DeVito PhD Loren DeVito, PhD, is a scientific and medical communications specialist with expertise in cannabis science and medicine. She completed her bachelor’s degree from Cornell University in psychology and cognitive science and received her masters and PhD from Boston University in behavioral neuroscience. Her graduate research involved study of the hippocampal-prefrontal network in supporting episodic memory. As part of this work, she additionally evaluated preclinical models of the social and cognitive impairments in schizophrenia. Loren pursued a Postdoctoral Fellowship at the Hospital for Sick Children Research Institute in Toronto, where she studied the cellular and molecular components of memory through analysis studied the cellular and molecular components of memory through analysis of hippocampal neurogenesis. Her work involved investigation of a preclinical model of Alzheimer’s Disease, which was supported by a grant from the Alzheimer’s Society of Canada. Her undergraduate and postdoctoral research were published in several high-impact neuroscience journals, and she nearly a decade of experience with the peer review process. Since her academic training, Loren has worked in science and medical communications at medical education companies, pharmaceutical agencies, nonprofits, academic centers, and startups. She is also a science journalist who has been published be Scientific American and Medical News Today, amount others. Over the past several years, Loren has also been writing for several cannabis magazines, including the MACE Media Group publications (Terpenes & Testing, Extraction Magazine, CBD Health & Wellness, and Topical Magazine), Ganjapreneur, Labroots, Prohbtd, and the weed Blog.
