David is a graduate of the Berklee College of Music where he studied and played with jazz luminaries such as MICHAEL GIBBS, HERB POMEROY, GEORGE GARZONE and BOB ROSE. He is the HOODOO LOUNGERS arranger and musical director.
Besides performing as a solo pianist, he has trav-elled and played with some of the country's top shows, show bands and recording artists such as GREASE, GOLD RUSH and the TRACY BROTHERS, CHUCK BERRY, TOM JONES, NAVARRO and Israeli Drummer, UTSIi ZIMRING's jazz ensemble.

DRUMSDave has played professionally since the 1970’s. He’s a drummer who truly understands how to SWING and has mastered many drumming styles. He is heavily influenced by the Oakland and San Francisco, California Funk scene.Dave has studied with several notable drum teachers including GARIBALDI (Tower of Power) and is picking up drum licks, fills and chops from Louisiana Music Hall of Fame Swing / Jazz drummer PAUL FERRARA (Louis Prima, Al Hurt).

GUITAR & VOCALSGuitarist Michael Schiano, a self-proclaimed Beatlemaniac, was singing and playing guitar in bands at age 11. When he met Joe Lauro at age 16, they formed the band “Good Friday” which morphed into “Loki”, one of the best loved bands on the Long Island, NY circuit.
Since then, he’s travelled and played with a slew of bands and wrote and recorded three CD’s. Michael is one of the very few players around dedicated to the art of rhythm guitar. Now he’s back with his pal Joe and is the HOODOO’s lead guitarist.
Some of Dawnette’s earliest vocal training came from her days singing at the church which she and her family attended.
After obtaining a degree in performing arts at New York’s Adelphi University under thedirection of Mr. Norman Walker, Dawnetteperformed at Theatre Three in Port Jefferson, New York.
From there she went on to form her own band “New Dawn”. Darden is an electrifying performer with a powerful voice – her vocals are effortlessly in the vein of New Orleans legends such as Irma Thomas, Lizzie Miles and the Dixiecups.

VOCALS Marvin Joshua is excited to work with theHOODOO LOUNGERS. He is the former lead singer of the FUNKY FRITTERS, a New Orleans Blues / Funk band headed by the late Danny Drexler (Blues guitarist).
Marvin has appeared in Dallas, Los Angeles Phoenix, and Japan performing Motown tunes, soul, dance and music theatre. Early in his career, he fell in love with Negro Spirituals and recorded several for a local Dallas, TX gospel radio station.

STRING, ELECTRIC BASS, VOCALS KEYBOARDS, ACCORDIAN, VOCALSA documentary filmmaker by trade, Joe Lauro directed FATS DOMINO documentary THE BIG BEAT for PBS/American Masters. He has also directed films on THE SUPREMES, THE FOUR TOPS, RICK JAMES, LOUIS PRIMA and HOWLING WOLF.
As huge fans of the music of New Orleans and Northern Louisiana, Joe and David co-founded THE HOODOO LOUNGERS in 2010.
Joe has worked with Long Island, NY jam / party bands and performed with legendary musicians such as CHUCK BERRY, ERNEST TUBB,RICK DAVIES (Super Tramp), SLEEPY LaBEEF, WANDA JACKSON and SAM LAY.
