Advice of BuddhaQ: How do you say you are enlightened? A: A young prince, a small snake, a spark of fire and a

young monk should not be looked down!Q: Many masters advised me to avoid love since it

creates pain and dejection.A: Without Love there is no Enlightenment.

Enlightenment is possible only by opening of heart through love. Love is not lust or attachment or discrimination or prejudice. Two aspects of love : Maitri , KarunaHigher form of Love is Devotion: Krishna declares who is his devotee in Bhagavad-Gita Chapter 12.

Adveshta sarva bhootaanam maitra karuna eva cha

• Opposite of love is not hatred, hatred is distorted form of love

• Opposite of Love is fear, fear is about losing what you love

• Maitra is to add happiness to another with your love

• Karuna is alleviating unhappiness of another through your love

Q: I love my country, family and people. Is it not sufficient for enlightenment?

A: When you restrict your love you are not enlightened. ‘I’ and ‘Mine’ are causes for this limitation. For a saint there none is a stranger. When you are stranger to yourself you estrange all othersWith love you cannot bargain, the choice is not yours. Love is a mirror – it reflects only your essence if you have the courage to look into its face – RumiWhen one is in love he looks at the world from his eyes and also from his beloved’s eyes – Swami ChinmayanandaLove expands your vision; it finally envelops the entire universe as one – Vasudaa eva kutumbakamLord looks at his creation with Love. An enlightened seer has the same vision. In Devotion there is no Division.

It is different from the pain of limited love.Compassion empowers you to serve.A person empowered by love for what he does is self-motivated.Love obstructed is AngerLove deprived is JealousLove distracted is HatredLove self-centered is GreedLove only at physical level is Lust

Share & Care

• Empower your family with your compassion

• Empower your friends with your care and concern

• Empower strangers with your friendliness

• Empower yourself with devotion to God

Love

Do not hate anybody, because that hatred which comes out from you must, in the long run, come back to you. If you love, that love will come back to you, completing the circle.

The first sign that you are becoming religious is that you are becoming cheerful.

LoveTo love truly is to add to your

life. You expand to function from two points – from yourself and from your beloved. To love the whole universe is to experience the All.

Love

The eternal, unbroken, natural state of abiding in the Self in Jnana. To abide in the Self you must love the Self.

Since God is in fact the Self, love of the Self is love of God, and that is bhakti. Jnana and bhakti are thus one and the same.

You can search throughout the entire universe for someone who is more deserving of your love and affection than you are yourself, and that person is not to be found anywhere. You yourself, as much as anybody in the entire universe deserve your love and affection. -Buddha
