6. SAFETY
6.1. STAFF SAFETY
Any operation on an outside site is forbidden in case of thunder storm, heavyrain or high wind.
You must switch off the circuit-breaker at the operator AC interface, and disactivate
the batteries before manipulating the power supply wiring of the AC box and of the
rectifier shelf.
The AC switch-off provokes the batteries discharge (the BTS remains powered with
- 48V DC).
If the batteries are internal, turn off the battery disconnect switch located above the
rectifier shelf of the BTS cabinet to disactivate them.
If there is a separate battery cabinet, turn off the DC circuit-breaker located at the
bottom-left of the battery cabinet to disactivate them.
6.2. EQUIPMENT SAFETY
In case of rainy / snowy weather, do not open a cabinet without a tent set up
beforehand. A tent specific to the S8000 Outdoor BTS cabinet is available.
Never leave wet equipment inside the cabinet (tent, etc...).
Initially powered, the S8000 BTS cabinet is operational during 3 hours door open at a
temperature of -10C (~ 14F). Once this time is passed the door opening of the
powered-up BTS cabinet is only possible with the use of an external heated shelter
(use a tent and heaters).
Be careful with the cutting of metal. Clean the DACS after the operation of drilling.
WARNING:
When the blowers are switched off, it is mandatory to wait a complete stop before
attempting to restart. In practice this means ensuring a period od least 30 second after
switch off before switching back on.

7. STRATEGY OF INSTALLATION
The installation of the noise reduction kit may be performed on a DACS in a
warehouse. The working condition is better. In this case only the replacement of the
DACS is achieved on site.
8. IMPACTS ON THE NETWORK
During the installation of the kit on site, the cabinet is not operational.
These operations must be performed at the appropriate time, to limit call attempt
failures from the network subscribers.
Duration of site unavailability is estimated at 1.5 hours in the worst case.
9. QUALITY CONTROL- All cases of non-compliance must be recorded as they are observed and
recapitulated clearly on the report sheet.
- For any corrective action refer to the coordinator.
10. SEQUENCE OF OPERATIONS
The sequence of operations is given by the report sheet.
