ATx AmplifiersThe first goal that we imposed was that ofobtaining a line of amplifiers with the maximummanufacturing and working reliability.The second objective, perhaps the mostimportant of the ATx project, was that ofcreating a line of amplifiers which could easilybe connected to the car radio that is ever morefrequently mounted as a Original Equipment,often installed in the in the aesthetics of thedashboard and interfaced with other functions,therefore it is difficult to dismount and improveby increasing the power, without generatinginterference and noise..The heat-sink is considerably heavy and finned,with the sandblasted and finally anodizedsurface favouring heat dispersion to themaximum. All the components are over-dimensioned to avoid any situation of stressand to increase the reliability in, for example,the power supply especially born in mind andproduced with Mosfets.The damping factor was kept high (>300), toobtain ever lower and controlled bass tones,and moreover a correct negative feedback, thatalways allows the levels of distortion to be keptvery low up to the maximum limit of the powerdeclared.The electronic crossovers are extremely versa-tile with the possibility of switching Lp-Flat-Hp.A tri-mode connection (Mono Stereo) is obviou-sly feasible in all the models of the series as perthe diagrams

ATTENTION: there is a socket for theconnection of the ATx model in the amplifier.Although it keeps the traditional form of theBooster connector for the high level inputs, thisconnector is different because of the functionsof the various contacts, which are: supply earth,loudspeakers earth, +12V battery, +15V, -15Vand remote input. It is therefore absolutelyforbidden to connect the traditional reducers tothis socket.

Il primo obiettivo che ci siamo imposti è stato diottenere una linea di amplificatori con lamassima affidabilità costruttiva e di funziona-mento.Il secondo obiettivo, forse il più importante delprogetto ATx è stato quello di creare una lineadi amplificatori che si potessero facilmente col-legare con le autoradio montate sempre piùfrequentemente di Primo Impianto, spesso inse-rite nell’estetica del cruscotto ed interfacciatecon altre funzioni, quindi difficilmente smonta-bili, per migliorarlo incrementandone la po-tenza, senza generare interferenze e ronzii.Il dissipatore è notevolmente pesante e alettato,con la superficie sabbiata ed infine anodizzatoper favorire il massimo smaltimento termico.Tutta la componentistica è surdimensionata perevitare qualsiasi situazione di stress ed au-mentare l’affidabilità come ad esempiol’alimentazione, particolarmente curata erealizzata con Mosfets.Il fattore di smorzamento è stato mantenutoelevato (>300), per ottenere sempre bassismorzati e controllati ed inoltre una correttacontroreazione consente di mantenere la di-storsione sempre a livelli molto bassi sino al li-mite massimo della potenza dichiarata.I crossover elettronici sono estremamente ver-satili per la possibilità di inserire Lp-Flat-HpIl collegamento tri-mode (Mono Stereo) è natu-ralmente attuabile in tutti i modelli della seriecome da schemi

ATTENZIONE: nell’amplificatore c’è il connet-tore per il collegamento del modulo ATx.Pur mantenendo la tradizionale forma del con-nettore Booster per gli ingressi alto livello, que-sto connettore si differenzia per le funzioni deidiversi contatti che sono: massa alimentazione,massa altoparlanti, +12V batteria, +15V, -15V eingresso remote. È quindi assolutamentevietato collegare i tradizionali riduttori a questapresa.

The most interesting and innovative detail of thisline of amplifiers are the ATx2 and ATx4supplementary modulus, sold directly asaccessories, which allow connection of theamplifier directly to the ISO connector of theloudspeakers, currently standard on all the motorvehicles, or on the Original Equipment car radio.While the traditional signal reducers transform the"high power" output into "low level" with a signaldivider and a capacitor, the ATx2 and ATx4modulus allow the car radio's "high power" signalto be transformed into a "low level" signal bymeans of a balanced differential circuit. Thisconnection allows removal of all the noises due tothe car's electrical system, keeping the source'squality unaltered. The modulus is equipped with"auto-starting" which allows, even in the case ofa Original Equipment car radio without the outputfor the electric aerial, for the amplifier's correctignition in an automatic manner.

Il particolare più interessante ed innovativo diquesta linea di amplificatori sono i moduli aggiun-tivi ATx2 e ATx4, venduti come accessori, chepermettono di collegare, l’amplificatore diretta-mente al connettore ISO degli aìtoparlanti, pre-sente di serie su tutte le automobili osull’autoradio di Primo Impianto. Mentre i tradizio-nali riduttori di segnale trasformano l’uscita “altapotenza” in “basso livello” con un partitore disegnale ed un condensatore, i moduli ATx2 eATx4 permettono di trasformare il segnale ad“alta potenza” dell’autoradio in segnale “bassolivello” tramite un circuito differenziale bilan-ciato. Questo collegamento permette di eliminaretutti i disturbi dovuti all’impianto elettrico dellaauto, mantenendo inalterata la qualità della sor-gente. Il modulo è dotato di “autoaccensione”che consente, anche nel caso d’autoradio diPrimo Impianto senza l’uscita per l’antenna elet-trica, una corretta accensione dell’amplificatore inmodo automatico.

The wiring supplied with the modulus allows for avery quick connection of the input and output (seediagram) because it is laid exactly between theoriginal output connector and the input connectorof the loudspeakers.The ATx2 modulus, for the two-channelamplifiers, also provides for the direct connectionfrom the car radio to the rear loudspeakers withthe supply of the car radio itself.In the ATx4 modulus, for the multi-channelamplifiers, both the Front and Rear outputs areamplified.It is natural that for the 5-channel amplifier, theATx420.5, that the connection of the subwoofermust be performed separately from the amplifierto the subwoofer itself.

ATTENTION: there is a connector for the con-nection of the ATx modulus in all the amplifiers.This connector is decidedly different from usuallyBooster connector because of the functions of thevarious contacts.It is therefore absolutely forbidden to connect thetraditional transformers to this socket.

Il cablaggio in dotazione al modulo permette unavelocissima connessione dell’ingresso edell’uscita (vedi schema) perché si pone esatta-mente tra il connettore originale di uscita ed ilconnettore di ingresso degli altoparlanti.Il modulo ATx2, per gli amplificatori a due canali,prevede anche il collegamento diretto dall’auto-radio agli altoparlanti posteriori con la potenzadell’autoradio stessa.Nel modulo ATx4, per gli amplificatori multi-canale, entrambe le uscite Front e Rear sonoamplificate.È intuitivo che per l’amplificatore ATx420.5, il 5canali, il collegamento del sub woofer deveessere eseguito singolarmente dall’amplificatoreal subwoofer stesso.

ATTENZIONE: in tutti gli amplificatori c’è ilconnettore per il collegamento del modulo ATxQuesto connettore si differenzia decisamente daltradizionale connettore Booster per le funzioni deidiversi contatti.È assolutamente vietato collegare i tradizionaliriduttori a questa presa.

ATx45.2 – ATx80.2 – ATx120.2 – ATx80.4With the possibility making the crossover work(as Hp or Lp) or to switch it off (Flat), there isthe possibility of building new multi-way systemsor extending systems already installed.We advise that the maximum attention be paid tothe power supply cable, as it is greatlyresponsible for good acoustic results (speed anddynamics), especially in the high volumefunctioning, when the demand for current is at themaximum. The quality of the PRE cables is alsovery important.On the typical length of a battery / amplifier cable(4 or 5 meters) we would recommend that for theATx45.2, the smallest model, a section of not lessthan 6 mm2 gradually increased for the models ofgreater power.Great care must be taken in the passivecrossovers which the user sometimescombines: for these it is necessary to ensurethat the form of general impedance of thesystem never goes below 1,5 ohms, or itssuffers the intervention of the electronicprotection.

Avendo la possibilità di far funzionare ilcrossover (come Hp o Lp) o di escluderlo(Flat) si ha la possibilità di costruire impiantinuovi multi via o ampliare impianti già installati.Consigliamo di porre la massima attenzione alcavo di alimentazione, che ha una granderesponsabilità per il buon risultato acustico(velocità e dinamica), soprattutto nelfunzionamento ad alto volume quando è massimala richiesta di corrente.Anche la qualità dei cavi PRE ha moltaimportanza.Sulla tipica lunghezza del cavo batteria /amplificatore (4 o 5 metri) consigliamo già per ilATx45.2, il modello più piccolo, una sezione noninferiore a 6 mm2 via via aumentato per i modellidi maggior potenza.Una particolare cura deve essere rivolta aicrossover passivi che l’utilizzatore a volteabbina: per questi bisogna accertare che ilmodulo d’impedenza generale dell’impianto nonscenda mai sotto a 1,5 Ohm, pena l’interventodella protezione elettronica.

ATx 420.5It is a very powerful and versatile model whichallows one to realize, with only one amplifier, areally complex system (see diagrams attached).It is equipped with a two-phase electrical powersupply to provide for any demand, it is able tosupply all the power that the system requires in aready and decisive manner.The L1-R1 channels have a Hi-Pass filter fixed at38 Hz; by not uselessly overloading the feeder atthe low frequencies (served by the Sub channel),it improves the performance obtaining a greaterspeed and dynamics response; for thesechannels a crossover switching over from LP toHP, with 50 ÷ 1500 Hz variable frequencies,allows one to obtain a Band Pass system. TheL-R channels always have a Hi Pass inserted andare variable between 50 and 1500 Hz for the Mid-Ranges and Tweeter.We advise that the maximum attention be paid tothe power supply cable, as it is greatlyresponsible for good acoustic results (speed anddynamics), especially in the high volumefunctioning, when the demand for current is at themaximum. È un modello molto potente e versatile checonsente di realizzare, con un solo amplificatore,un impianto veramente complesso.Dotato di un doppio stadio di alimentazione persopperire ad ogni richiesta, riesce ad erogaretutta la potenza che il sistema richiede in modopronto e deciso.I canali L1-R1 hanno un filtro Hi-Pass fisso a 38Hz che, non sovraccaricando inutilmentel’alimentatore alle basse frequenze (servite dalcanale Sub), migliora la resa ottenendo così unamaggior dinamica e velocità di risposta; per questicanali un crossover commutabile da LP in HP,con frequenze variabili 50÷1500 Hz, permette diottenere un sistema Band Pass.I canali L-R hanno un Hi Pass sempre inserito evariabile tra 50 e 1500 Hz per i Mid-Range eTweeterConsigliamo di porre la massima attenzione alcavo di alimentazione, che ha una granderesponsabilità per il buon risultato acustico(velocità e dinamica), soprattutto nelfunzionamento ad alto volume quando è massimala richiesta di corrente. Anche la qualità dei caviPRE ha molta importanza.
