Product Application

MB-2 series of low-voltage distribution cabi-

net is mainly on fuse protection, suitable for

low-voltage electricity distribution systems,

such as factory and mining enterprises, com-

mercial buildings, residential quarters; to be

used as lighting, power distribution equipment,

conversion and isolation.

Product Features

1 Bus bar system.

The bus bar system is composed of MB.H1 and MB.H2

series fuse-switch-disconnector, basing on bus bar and unique

adapters; to achieve compact distribution and detecting sys-

tems with various electrical components. All electrical modules

are mounted on the conductive bus bars,it saves the connec-

tion between the switch and bus bar. The system is compact

and adjusted easily overall as well.

Product Description

MB-2 series of low-voltage distribution cabinet comes from

the valuable wisdom and experience of our company engi-

neers and technical experts of domestic electrical equipment.

Its design refers to domestic and abroad advanced technology,

in line with China’s industrial technology development trend of

new cabinets. The main components in the cabinet are adopted

own patented products with high-technology in China. It has

overcome a series of drawbacks for the traditional circuit break-

ers type distribution cabinet, such as low breaking capacity, the

larger the ratio of selective coordination, non-current-limiting

characteristics and so on, Small size, high capacity, reliable

performance, simple operation, as well as high breaking

capacity, current-limiting and anti-aging; these make our prod-

ucts be considered as the recognized and cost-effective power

distribution solution to the low-voltage distribution field in China.

Advantage

The product development and research

to fuse and fusegear have been focused

at all times worldwide, using its signifi-

cant protection features to develop more

reasonable product structure. MB. H

series are the newest products develop-

ing from various combinations of

products, it combines fusing protection,

isolation and switching in order to make

the distribution unit smaller, more rea-

sonable and attractive.

Safety

Except for conductive parts, all are the

finger-touch protection

Environment-friendly

The products are made of environment-

friendly material.

4. Discrimination

Discrimination means when there is overload or short

circuit faults happen, the nearest protective compo-

nent upstream opens, to ensure power supply contin-

ued to non-fault circuit and cut-off safely to fault circuit.

The fuse rating ratio between upstream and down-

stream is 1.6 :1 in accordance with international

standards. Low ratio can not only reduce the current

level of protection in more details for the entire network,

but also reduce the overall harm significantly caused

by fault current on power supply network. For circuit

breaker, the ratio between upstream and downstream

is 3.4 : 1 in accordance with the standards in order to

ensure better security features. This will expand the

current level for the whole network, thereby increasing

the current level of the cables and electrical

components, which must cause a great deal of waste

for utility department and end users. Through the

application of fuse-switch-disconnector. It will reduce

the ratings of the switches, cables and electrical

components, save the cost of investment and lower

the operating power consumption.

Electrical feature

1. Rating range

Fuse-switch-disconnector differs from other switch equipment,

along with short-circuit, overload protection, isolation and switch-

ing functions. It is the newest fusegear equipment in the world

combining with tradtional fuse, disconnector and switch. It

operates not only under load but also with perfect current-

limiting and selective coordination. It can be used in low voltage

distribution circuits widely, from low voltage side of transformer

round to the input circuit to end user, current rating range from

160A~1250A for the distribution rooms or cable distribution

boxes. It is designed to be simple, easy to install and safe,

reliable to operate. It will help numbers of distribution sector

users and the construction developer reaping much more

significant economic benefits than circuit breakers solution.

2. Breaking capacity

Breaking capacity of the fuse-switch-disconnector is from 50kA

to 120kA, which fully advances against the highest possible

short-circuit condition in the realities of industrial power. The

same breaking capacity for circuit breakers is not only expen-

sive but also bulky size, therefore, the cost should be much

higher and more difficult for control and maintenance.

3. Operating under rated load

Fuse-switch-disconnector is different from our other combina-

tion of fuse products, such as insulation-disconnector or fuse

holder, which are defined in the products standards definitely

and can not be operated under the loads. Fuse-switch-

disconnector is therefore not only isolated, but also has the

switching function to break loads normally.

Efficiency economy

1. To utility

To developers and construction sector, in low-voltage

distribution system, the cost is much lower than circuit

breaker system when overall adoption of fuse-switch-

disconnector.

2. To designer

Fuse is fully matched to transformer and cable charac-

teristic curve, the fuse selection for designers is more

convenient.

3. To user

The product configuration is easy and flexible for

connection and installation. Ingress protection can be

reached IP20.

5. Current-limiting characteristic

Any other circuit protection devices can not be compared with

the current limiting characteristics of the fuse. Relying on their

own physical characteristics, Joule-integral I2t setting, these

achieve to cut off the fault current before the prospective peak

current run up to avoid the circuit system from harm. Normal

circuit breakers are non-current limiting characteristics; the

quality of their products, the aging extent of their structure will

impact their current limiting characteristics greatly.

6. Excellent over current protection characteristic

The characteristic curve of fuse is perfectly matched to the

characteristics of transformers and cables, to ensure the trans-

former to run safely when working under the maximum load;

especially for using dedicated transformer protection fuse, it

will enable the transformer running for 10 hours under load by

1.2 times or 2 hours by 1.5 times of load safely. This is very high

security and economic value if significant fluctuations in elec-

tricity load.

Main Electrical Components

7. Anti-aging feature

Fuses are not the renewable parts, the products per-

formance can be fully restored to the design require-

ments by replacing fuses.

Łlthough circuit breakers can be switched repeat-

edly with convenience of users, at the same time, it

definitely have been a lot of security risks, the contact

wear, the sensitivity and the rated setting will inevita-

bly be affected.

8. Telemetry

Fuse-switch-disconnector can be realized in the re-

mote monitoring function in the low-voltage distribu-

tion network. In use of fuse-switch-disconnector is not

only compliant to the international norms, but also

great to meet the running norms of electrical appli-

ances in our country.

Product Description

In order to provide better protection to electri-

cal equipment and to meet the requirements

of fuse-switch-disconnector in the special

occasions, to find out the failures caused by

electrical equipment and transmission circuit

fault ; our company developped this fuse moni-

toring module. Visual display of not only each

fuse status in the fuse-switch-disconnector

and open-close status of the switch, but also

to monitor phase-lacking at power supply. If

there is failure, the monitoring module

switches a passive signal for remote alarm or

other control circuit to cut off the load.

Low-voltage Fuse Links Selection Guide

The purpose of using fuses is to cut off

the line safely and correctly to protect

discrete components for the whole line

in case of circuit faults.

Compliance to standard

GB 13539.1~7 Low voltage fuses and series standards.

IEC 60269-1~4 Low voltage fuses and series

standards.

The features of fuse

1. High breaking capacity

The breaking capacity for fuses is rated 120kA/500Vac, which

is the highest in all of the low-voltage equipments at present.

And there is no noise and light effect when breaking.

2. Excellent current limiting

A very strong current-limiting effect when fuse breaking short-

circuit current, will enable to prevent the electrical equipment

from the destructive damage generated by a great short-circuit

current.

3. Small selective ratio for upstream to downstream

The selective ratio for fuses coordination between upstream

and downstream is 1.6:1 (for circuit breakers, the ratio is 3:1 or

4:1).It makes the protective classification for the electrical

network more rigorous, reliable and cost efficient.

4. Good performance in anti-aging and keeping line stable.

5. Small size, cheap cost and easy maintenance

Compared with the other electrical components of circuit

protection, with the same current rating products, fuses are

smaller in size, cheaper in cost and easier in operation and

maintenance.

Normal service and installation conditions

a. Ambient air temperature: -5℃~+60℃.

b. Altitude: less than 2000 m.

c. The ambient air: The air is clean and its relative humidity does

not exceed 50 % at the maximum temperature of 40.

d. Higher relative humidities are permitted at lower temperatures,

e.g. 90% at +20. Should take measure when there is conden-

sation on the products which due to the changed temperature.

e. Pollution degree: 3

f. Overvoltage category: f f f

Noun and items

“gG” full range protection and for general purpose

fuselink;

“aM” partial range protection and for motor circuit fuselink;

“aR” partial range protection and for semi-conductor

fuselink.

Fuse selection rules1. Technical requirement1.1 rated voltage

the rated voltage of the fuselink must be higher than

the voltage placed

1.2 breaking capacity

the breaking capacity of the fuselink must be higher

than the prospective maximum short circuit current.

2. Fuse selection2.1 conductive wire and cable protection

According to working current of wire and cable to

select fuse rating.

a. over load protection to wire and cable

the rated current of fuse link should be equal or less

than the working current of wire and cable

b. short circuit protection to wire and cable

the sectional area of wire and cable is determined,

then the rated current of the matched fuse link should

be higher by 1~2 rating.

2.2 motor protection

The fuse is selected according to the service

entironment of the fuse and the service condition of

the motor. Fuse rated current selection is about the

motor rated current of 1.3 ~1.6 times.

Overload protection to motor must also have overload

protection component or overload protection device.

2.3 capacitor protection

The fuse in capacitor device is usually used for short

circuit protection, fuse rated current selection can’t be

less than the capacitor rated current of 1.6 times.

2.4 semiconductor equipment protection

The melting It of fuselink should be less than the It of

the semiconductor device or component.
