Year 6 Big Day Out Friday 15 December:

Last day of school for 2017!

2017 Presentation Day

What a proud day for Lowanna Public School! The weather wasn’t as we had planned but thanks to the generosity of Donna and all the Mountain Preschool children and staff we were still able celebrate each student’s achievements.

A big thank you to all our parents, families and friends who were able to transport their children to and from Lowanna Hall, and join us for our special day. The expressions on the children’s faces as they scanned the hall

Park Beach on Tuesday for Ocean Awareness On Friday notes were sent home for our Ocean Awareness excursion on Tuesday (tomorrow). We apologise for the late notice. This excursion is all about essential life skills and ocean safety.

Our school is once again paying all costs for the bus and also the Ocean Awareness lessons, so there is no cost to our families.

All staff will be attending the excursion with no supervision at school so please ensure all notes have been returned and that the children arrive on time wearing plenty of sunscreen, a towel, rashie, school hat, a healthy lunch, jumper, snacks and their school water bottle. Please note that juice poppers should only be in *addition to their school water bottle, as they cannot be resealed once opened, or refilled.

Children should wear their swimwear under their uniform, as there will be limited time for changing once we arrive at the beach, and we don’t want to miss anything! They should also pack underwear for when they change out of their swimmers and a plastic bag to carry their wet gear home in.

Year 6 students will be attending the CHHS Orientation Day and will not need to return this permission note.

Breakfast Club finishes up for the year A big thank you to our lovely parents who have been volunteering in the canteen each morning to ensure all our children start the day with a

healthy breakfast and are ready for learning.

Wednesday is particularly popular as it is egg on toast day thanks to our happy hens!

Last week was our last free pickup for the year from Oz Harvest, so once those supplies have been used our Breakfast Club will finish up until next year.

From today, Monday, all our children will need to have a healthy breakfast before coming to school.

Carriage Café & Secret Santas! The children are busily preparing for our Carriage Café on Thursday with a special Christmas theme.

A reminder that each child’s wrapped Secret Santa gift should be brought to school either before or on this day, labelled with who it is for but not who it is from (unless you would like to write “Santa”!).

To help with our catering, we need the RSVP notes returned, alternatively you can let one of us know, or phone our school. Thanks!

Preschool Graduation Next Thursday 14 December we will be walking to Lowanna’s Mountain Preschool to join them for their graduation ceremony. Permission notes will not be needed as this is covered under a general permission note completed earlier in the year. We will leave school at approximately 12:10pm.

Please ensure children come to school with their daily school water bottle for the walk. Parents and friends are most welcome to join us on the day.

CHHS Here We Come! Year 6 had a great day at high school last week and are looking forward to heading off

again on Tuesday. This week all of next year’s Year 7 students will be there so it is sure to be an exciting day!

Kind Regards,

Sharlee Cassidy.
