The Lions edged the Rams, 41-40, earlier this season. The third-place game matches Tarleton State at Midwestern State. The Mustangs won the previous meeng 27-23. West Texas A&M and Eastern New Mexico play for fiſth-place, while Texas A&M-Kingsville at McMurry is the seventh-place contest. The Greyhounds topped the Buffs 31-21, and the War Hawks defeated the Javelinas 27-21 during the regular season. LSC FOOTBALL Lone Star Conference teams played the first week of the inaugural conference playoffs last week. Here is a closer look at the contests: A&M-Commerce topped Tarleton State 56-49 to win it’s second straight game. • Angelo State defeated Midwestern State 41-36 for its fourth consecuve win. All six scoring drives for ASU were four play or less. Eastern New Mexico charged to a 34-0 halſtime lead and never looked back, en-route to a 61-7 win over Texas A&M-Kingsville. West Texas A&M posted a 58-13 victory over McMurry. LSC football teams are 40-36 overall this season. The squads are 5-1 combined versus the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athlec Conference, Great Lakes Valley Conference and Rocky Mountain Athlec Conference teams, which are also in NCAA Super Regional Four. PLAYERS OF THE WEEK CO-OFFENSIVE Kyle Washington, Angelo State University, JR, QB, Humble, Texas, Humble HS Washington had a hand in all six of the Rams touchdowns in the 41-36 win over Midwestern State to propel ASU to the LSC Playoff Championship game. The junior threw for 268 yards and four touchdowns on 14-of-28 passing while gaining 184 yards on the ground and two touchdowns. He averaged 15.3 yards per carry in the win. Washington is now No. 4 in NCAA Division II and No. 1 in the LSC in total offense averaging 353.6 yards per game. E’lon Spight, Eastern New Mexico University, SR, RB, St. Louis, Mo., Hazelwood East HS/Grossmont College Spight registered Eastern New Mexico’s first 200-yard rushing day since early in the 2007 season and finished with 217 yards on just 16 carries. His performance liſted the Greyhounds to their third consecuve victory over Texas A&M-Kingsville. Spight carried the ball 13 mes for 103 yards and four touchdowns in the first half and saw limited acon in the second half, due to the Greyhounds’ lead. The four touchdowns clinched his single- season team record with 19. Spight had 114 yards on just three carries in the second half, to bring his season total to 1,479, also an ENMU record. For the game, he had posive yardage on all 16 carries, with eight first downs and four runs of at least 23 yards DEFENSIVE Iosia Iosia, West Texas A&M University, JR, DE, San Francisco, Calif., Aiagon HS Iosia was all over the field as he had eight tackles, including two huge sacks for a loss of 24 yards and 4.5 tackles for loss for a team-high 33 yards. He had one quarterback hurry as the Buffs held McMurry to just 186 yards of total offense which was a season-low against the Buffs. SPECIAL TEAMS Ransom Cook, Texas A&M University - Commerce, SR, Coverage, Gulfport, Fla, Boca Ciega HS With the game knoed at 28 and Tarleton State aempng a field goal, the Lions special teams unit baed the ball down and Cook jumped on it. He scoop the ball and ran 80 yards for the touchdown to give the Lions a 35- 28 lead. His scamper was part of a 27-point swing for the Lions to start the third quarter. OTHER TOP PERFORMERS Chauncey Harris, Midwestern State University, accounted for 240 all-purpose yards Saturday night against Angelo State. The 5-9, 175-pound senior running back from San Antonio churned out a season-high 178 yards with a touchdowns including a season-long 61-yard burst midway through the third quarter. Harris also caught four passes for 32 yards while returning a kick of 20 more yards. It was his third straight 100-yard rushing performance as he has amassed 518 yards on 63 carries (8.2 yards per carry) over the past three weeks with five touchdowns. Geremy Alridge-Mitchell, West Texas A&M University, tallied his eighth consecuve game of 100 yards rushing and sixth-straight game of two touchdowns on the ground in a 58-13 win over McMurry Saturday. Alridge-Mitchell rushed for a career-high 175 yards on 23 carries, including a long of 40. A-Mitchell has 1,175 yards this season to lead the team. Joe Bergeron , Texas A&M University - Commerce, was a force for the Lions in the 56-49 win over Tarleton State. He carried the ball 20 mes for 139 yards for a 6.9 yards per carry average. With the game knoed at 49, Bergeron carried the ball four mes on the game-winner drive eang up chunks of yards. drive with a yard-plunge into the end zone. His most impressive run of the day came on a 10-yard scoring dashing when he stiff armed two tackles to get the ball across the plain of the end zone. Zed Woerner, Tarleton State University, first career start for Tarleton State was one for the record books as the sophomore signal caller from Marble Falls threw for a school-record 470 yards against Texas A&M-Commerce in the first round of the LSC Playoffs. Woerner was thrust into the starting lineup after an injury to Collin Strahan kept him from playing. As a result, Woerner accounted for four total touchdowns, including three threw the air and one on the ground. He was 41-56 throwing and spread the ball around, hitting eight different receivers and completing over 100 yards to two different players. Leo Migo, Texas A&M University - Commerce, who has been vaulted into the starting role due to injuries, was a one man tackling force for the Lions in their 56-49 win over Tarleton State. Migo was in the back field with 1.5 tackles for loss including a sack, in pass coverage as he recorded 11 solo tackles and a run stopper. MIgo came up with the biggest play of the game and arguably the year for the Lions. With the Tarleton State on the two-yard line, the Texans attempted draw play that was stuff out by Migo and stopped in the backfield to preserve the win. Benjamin Pedro-Langford, Eastern New Mexico University, led a Greyhound defense which allowed just 103 offensive yards to Texas A&M-Kingsville in the first half. Eastern did not allow a scoring drive until late in the third quarter, when Eastern was up 47-0. In addition to his nine tackles, Pedro-Langford made an interception in the endzone, early in the fourth quarter, to give him four for the season. Eastern’s defense limited the Javelinas to just four third-down conversions in 14 tries. Anthony Gonzales, Tarleton State University, had a strong game from the defensive end position against Texas A&M-Commerce last Saturday, recording eight tackles – seven of them solo – including a 14-yard sack and a forced fumble. Mitchell Cox, Eastern New Mexico University, had four touchbacks on 10 kickoffs against Texas A&M-Kingsville, which included one against the wind. Bubba Tandy, Tarleton State University, led the team in return yardage with one punt return for 25 yards and one kickoff return for 17 yards. Combined, Tandy had two returns for 42 yards and a 21.0 yard per return average. Conner Hollabaugh, West Texas A&M University, tied his career-high going 3 for 3 in field goals against McMurry Saturday. He connected from 22, 23 and 22 yards, while kicking off 11 times for 62.5 average with five touchbacks. He also went a career-best 7 of 7 in extra-points for the game and scored 16 points in the game. For the season he is 16 of 18 in field goals and 42 of 44 in extra-points.

Eastern New Mexico The Eastern New Mexico University football team charged to a 34-0 halftime lead and never looked back, en-route to a 61-7 win over Texas A&M-Kingsville, in Saturday’s Lone Star Conference playoff game. E’lon Spight carried the ball just 16 times, but rolled up a career-high 217 yards and four touchdowns, to capture the ENMU single-season rushing records for touchdowns and yards. The Hounds also are nearing their team mark for rushing yards. Seth Bailey and Jerrell Bradford each had 10 tackles, while Elliott Peters was constantly in the backfield with a sack and five pressures. The win gave Eastern its first three-game win streak in the series and the Hounds also set a new team record, with 382 points in the season. This week, ENMU will host West Texas A&M.

Midwestern State Midwestern State suffered a 41-36 loss at Angelo State in the opening round of the Lone Star Conference Playoffs Saturday night in San Angelo... MSU lost two games to Angelo State this season which marks the first time since 1989 that Midwestern lost twice to the same opponent in a season. MSU dropped two games to Austin College, Tarleton State and Howard Payne that season... Midwestern faced a double figure first quarter deficit for the fifth time this season Saturday against Angelo State. MSU claimed wins in three of those games... The Mustangs amassed its second highest offensive output of the season with 555 yards Saturday against Angelo State -- just 11 shy of the 566 yards it posted against McMurry on Oct. 18... Midwestern State accounted for 30 first downs for the second time this season... The Mustangs used its longest drive of the season -- a 20-play, 94-yard in 8:52 -- to pull to within five points with 3:30 to play Saturday against Angelo State... MSU rolled up 300 rushing yards for the fourth time in the last five weeks... The Mustangs are averaging 334 rushing yards a game over the past five weeks... The MSU offense has produced a 100-yard rusher in eight out of nine games this season and in each of the last seven... Tarleton State Tarleton State dropped its second straight game Saturday night as the Texans were stopped on the goal line, trailing by seven, to fall to the Lions in a rematch with Texas A&M-Commerce. Sophomore Zed Woerner threw for a school-record 470 yards in the loss. Tarleton will travel to Midwestern State next weekend for a 1 p.m. game.

Texas A&M-Commerce - The Lions are the NCAA’s best scoring offense averaging 54.4 points per game ... No team at the FBS or FCS level average more points per game than the Lions ... Only one NCAA team, a Division III team, averages more points than A&M-Commerce.- A&M-Commerce is also ranked second in total offense with 532.6 yards and third in passing offense at 370.0 yards per game ... On the defensive side, the team is second in the NCAA in team tackles for a loss and fourth in punt blocks ... Saul Martinez leads the NCAA in field goals per game and is fourth in scoring.- The Lions are ranked No. 24 in the AFCA Top 25 ... The Lions entered the poll at No. 23 then spent one week at No. 22 ... First time since 2001 the Lions have been ranked during the season.- Tyrik Rollison continues to be one of the best passers in the game ... Texas A&M-Kingsville On Oct. 4, Jordan Thomas caught eight passes for 98 yards. In Saturday’s 61-7 loss to No. 5 Eastern New Mexico University (6-4) at Greyhound Stadium, Texas A&M-Kingsville (1-9) was led by the junior’s 10 receptions for 112 yards. The 100-plus yards were the most since Robert Armstrong’s 166 in last season’s finale versus Valdosta State. Greg Pitre found the end zone in the third quarter for Texas A&M-Kingsville’s first touchdown against the Greyhounds this season. Trey Mitchell finished 29-of-48 with 279 yards and an interception. Trevor Moses led all Javelina defenders with 11 tackles, followed by Trevor Pesek’s nine and Anthony Forker’s eight. Tre Oliver earned his first fumble recovery as a Javelina and Henry Greathouse added a tackle for a loss.

West Texas A&M West Texas A&M posted a 58-13 victory over McMurry Saturday for its sixth win of the season (6-4)...With the win, the Buffs tallied their 10th consecutive winning season dating back to 2005...WT junior running back Geremy Alridge-Mitchell went

over 100 yards for the eighth-straight game with a career-high 175 yards and tallied two touchdowns for the sixth-straight game...He has 1,175 yards for the season...WT tallied 546 yards of offense in the game and held McMurry 186 yards which was a season-low against WT...WT tallied 15 tackles for loss for 84 yards and junior defensive lineman Iosia Iosia had two sacks for 24 yards...The Buffs now conclude the season at Eastern New Mexico in the second week of the LSC Playoff. The Greyhounds won the regular season meeting 31-21 two weeks ago at Blackwater Draw.
