Lukas Nics, MSc, PhD Position: Post doctoral assistent Focus: Preclinical Radiotracer development Born in 1969, Dr. Lukas Nics learned a trade as a watchmaker. In 1993, he passed the master craftsman’s examination for watchmakers. Dr. Nics exerted this business as a self-employed person in Vienna for 6 years. Afterwards, Lukas Nics studied Nutritional- Sciences at the University of Vienna, Austria. In his diploma-thesis he focused on oxidative stress and exogenic antioxidants of competitive athletes completing an Iron- Man triathlon. He has a University teaching position in “Qualitative and quantitative bioanalytics related to chromatographic methods with main focus on HPLC” at the Department of Nutritional Sciences, Faculty of Life-Sciences, University of Vienna. Dr. Nics finished his PhD thesis in 2013 at the Division of Nuclear Medicine, at the Medical University of Vienna with the topic: “Metabolite studies in-vitro and in-vivo: From preclinical evaluation to clinical trials”. During his PhD work he investigated the influence of the enzymatic system on the bioavailability of newly developed PET- tracers. Since 2017, Dr. Lukas Nics has occupied the position as section head of the Preclinical Imaging Laboratory (PIL) related on Experimental Nuclear Medicine. He and his team conducts research in the field of small animal imaging using PET/SPECT/CT modalities.

Focus: Preclinical Radiotracer development

Born in 1969, Dr. Lukas Nics learned a trade as a watchmaker. In 1993, he passed the

master craftsman’s examination for watchmakers. Dr. Nics exerted this business as a

self-employed person in Vienna for 6 years. Afterwards, Lukas Nics studied Nutritional-

Sciences at the University of Vienna, Austria. In his diploma-thesis he focused on

oxidative stress and exogenic antioxidants of competitive athletes completing an Iron-
