Notes:
Senza misura bars: The rhythms for the singers should resemble natural speech patterns. Four different note-lengths are used (from short to long) but these are only a guide.
In some sections, such as scenes I and VII, the singers have to cue their entries from each other. This is indicated by arrows. As the voices pass from one to another there should be great flexibility and fluidity. When the music moves faster, voices should over-lap and collide.
In scene 7 there are moments when two singers are cued simultaneously. In this situation, do not attempt to be in time with each other.
Time signatures: In scene I there are time signatures of 1/3 and 2/3. These indicate the division of the beat into one or two triplet minims in the bar.

[The PRINCE goes to the curtains concealing the Garden and throws them open to reveal anexact model of themselves: seven of them, the table, the ring-binders, like a doll’s house versionof the stage. The tiny Prince in the model is frozen at the moment he is opening the curtains toreveal an even smaller version, as if this dwindles into ever smaller images of the same thing. The Queen’s ‘infinity’ is merely the endless reflection of themselves]
