mar U 1983 MISSION Dear Fellow Laborers* Greetings from the 50th State and your co-workers for Christ in this area. May your New Year be filled with joy and success in His service. No doubt you heard about the volcano erupting in Hawaii several weeks ago. Probably you know that it occurred on another island about 200 miles from us. It only affected us by giving us haze for several days, but it has helped us decide that that island is probably not the one to which we should retire. I have always had respiratory problems and the fumes from the volcano put many people in the hospital. I don't need to be one of them. You may remember that we spoke of Maurice and Faye Saito who grew up in our island churches, went to Bible College and Seminary, and have returned to work for the Lord here. Faye is job hunting. Maurice will be on a fund-raising tour beginning in March and in September will begin a two-year ministry with his home church at Sunset Beach, Faye is from our congregation, "rte pray that he can quickly gain support for we feel that such young people who are natives of the islands are the hope of evangelization and permanent growth in our churches here. We have also mentioned those who were taking our places while we were on furlough—Robert Plank and his family. We asked you to pray, the Lord willing, that he would return to work with us in Palolo Valley. He wants to return, his family wants to come, the congregation here wants him to return. In fact, they are earnestly seeking to increase their giving so that they will be able to pay him a partial salary. They have agreed to furnish him a house, utilities, and ,^300 per month. He will be seeking to raise the balance needed from the churches. Their goal is to be here in mid-July. Since they have four children and by that time there will probably be only two of us (Lora is enrolling in Ozark Bible College), we will vacate this big house and move into the back building which has Charles' study in it and two small apartments. It needs a lot of repair and some remodeling to make it suitable for a permanent house. We have reroofed one side of the building but did not do the other side because it needed more than new roofing. The rafters must be replaced and to do that it must have a new supporting wall. It also needs some new posting underneath. We began the process today. We have received two gifts designated for repair of this building, but more will be needed. "Our Writer helper, Ruth Wasson, will" be~leaving March"26, -then -June- IB two mission interns from Roanoke Bible College will come to help in the pre-school. Thoy are Sharon Hall and Ginny Bodamer. These intervening months will be extremely busy with a revival meeting March 20-25 with Marion Alexander of Newburg, MO as speaker, our annual Easter pageant on April the remodeling of the back building, then moving. MISSION

Dear Fellow Laborers*

Greetings from the 50th State and your co-workers for Christ inthis area. May your New Year be filled with joy and success inHis service.

No doubt you heard about the volcano erupting in Hawaii several weeksago. Probably you know that it occurred on another island about 200miles from us. It only affected us by giving us haze for several days, but it has helped us decide that that island is probably not the one towhich we should retire. I have always had respiratory problems and thefumes from the volcano put many people in the hospital. I don't needto be one of them.

You may remember that we spoke of Maurice and Faye Saito who grew upin our island churches, went to Bible College and Seminary, and havereturned to work for the Lord here. Faye is job hunting. Mauricewill be on a fund-raising tour beginning in March and in September willbegin a two-year ministry with his home church at Sunset Beach, Fayeis from our congregation, "rte pray that he can quickly gain supportfor we feel that such young people who are natives of the islands arethe hope of evangelization and permanent growth in our churches here.

We have also mentioned those who were taking our places while we wereon furlough—Robert Plank and his family. We asked you to pray, theLord willing, that he would return to work with us in Palolo Valley. He wants to return, his family wants to come, the congregation herewants him to return.
