The coffee tradition in Lviv dates back to 17th c. when Lvivian Yuriy-Franz Kulchytskyi brought coffee to Europe, namely Vienna. There are about 1,500 restaurants, coffee shops and confectionaries in Lviv.

Lviv beer is one of the most popular beers in Ukraine. The tradition of brewing beer was started by the monks in the 15th century and it is also followed by restaurateurs. Nowadays, apart from Lviv country-known and the oldest brewery, there are about 5 restaurants/pubs in the city that have their own brewery on the premises.

It was so good that shortly it became popular not only in Ukraine, but also in the Austro-Hungarian Empire, and later in the Soviet Union. In the beer museum you can learn about the history of brewing, and try famous Lviv beer (Lvivske) that was brewed in Lviv since 1715.
