Background:

Tomas is a 27 year old undergraduate taking his first engineering course. After graduating high school, Tomas worked for several years to save money for college. He commutes to campus and takes online courses when available. Socializing outside of class is not important to Tomas as he is pretty reserved.

Tomas purchased a laptop to use for classes. While it is a newer model, the laptop does not have much computing power. He is concerned that he will need to upgrade his laptop before finishing his coursework.

Objectives:● Getting a good education● Developing a portfolio of projects● Getting good grades● Keeping expenses low

Expectations:● A wide variety of educational

experiences in engineering● Do much of work online● Continue to work

Concern:● Accessing course off campus● Using current laptop for coursework
