PSTN Fallback
The device containing digital modules (BRI,PRI) can provide a “lifeline” telephone link.
In the event of a power failure, a relay connects trunk 1 to 2, and/or 3 to 4 in the same module.
The link is provided by the closing of a metallic switch inside the module so that the trunk from the PBX is switched from the module to the PSTN.
“One-Stop-Shop” Vendor for Microsoft Unified Communications
Active Directory Support
Enables phased and easy migration from TDM to UC
Call routing based on Active Directory information (to TDM PBX, OCS /Lync

Active Directory Capabilities
The MGW supports Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP), allowing the device to make call routing decisions based on information stored on LDAP server (or Microsoft’s Active Directory-based enterprise directory server).Enables the usage of one common, popular database to manage and maintain information regarding user’s availability, presence, and location.Based on queries sent to the AD, this feature allows you to route incoming calls to one of the following IP domains:
PBX/IP-PBX (for users yet to migrate to the Lync)Lync clientsMobile

SPS Highlights - cont’d
Automatic phone registrationSPS is notified of phone registrationSPS searches Active Directory for phone and registers matching user at Lync
Lync compliant enhanced presence publishing Status set to ‘busy in a call’ during callPhone user status changes from Available to Inactive to Away when idleSupports persistent status change to DND, busy, away, etc. via phone soft key or dial codes
Automatic recovery of registered phonesRe-registration at Lync upon application restartRe-registration at Lync upon Lync restart
“One-Stop-Shop” Vendor for Microsoft Unified Communications
SPS Highlights - cont’d
Robust Security Model All communications from IP-Phone to SPS is encrypted (SIP over TLS, SRTP, HTTPS)Windows Passwords are not stored in the IP-Phone
IP-Phone password is provisioned and controlled by the Sys Admin and is hidden from the end user (under no condition user is required to manually enter / change IP-Phone password)
Access Control List for blocking unauthorized use of Lync resourcesOptional Phone Lock mechanism using Phone’s dial-pad (lock by user, after idle, non-business hours, etc )
“One-Stop-Shop” Vendor for Microsoft Unified Communications
Media Handling
AudioCodes SIP phones that support SRTP enable direct RTP
flow between phone and Lync client
AudioCodes SIP phones support MSRTA codec and enable
direct end to end high quality MSRTA over SRTP media flow
3rd Party Phones, that do not support SRTP, require SRTP
encoding and decoding that can be performed using
AudioCodes GW
For 3rd party phones that support non MSRTA wideband
codecs (like G722), it is possible to use AudioCodes GW for
wideband Transcoding to MSRTA
