support faculty awards and recognitions; Lead university-level training for department chairs; Review
dossiers and university panel recommendations and preparation reports to the Provost on outcome, both

promotion and other topics to enhance faculty success; Coordinate university-level efforts to promote
faculty diversity and to support faculty with disabilities. Supervise and provide guidance to the
Executive Leadership for Women Leadership Development program. Represent the Provost's Office at
university and community activities calling for input and participation related to faculty matters.
Participate in budget hearings of the college deans, and provide input regarding the distribution of
university funds allotted to each college. Participate in daily team meetings of the Provost to discuss
and make decisions about university-wide initiatives including: student success, faculty advancement,
strategic planning, institutional effectiveness, research and economic development and globalization.
Accomplishments: Developed and implemented a New Faculty Development academic year series;
Created and facilitated development sessions for the newly formed university-level Promotion and
Tenure Panel; Developed new procedures for several faculty related processes, including hiring, leave
and tenure delay; Provided leadership development to departmental search committees regarding
recruitment and retention of diverse faculty; developed and implemented a junior faculty of color
mentoring program; Assisted with the development of a new Non-Tenure Track Hiring and Promotion
manual. Developed and implemented a process to support mid-career associate professors advance to
become promoted. Led in the development of SACS accreditation reports related to faculty. Developed

(counseling psychology and school psychology); Supervised 15 full-time faculty and 10 part-time
instructors; Managed more than $1,500.000 departmental budget; Coordinated teaching load
distribution, course scheduling, teaching evaluations, mentoring, admissions and recruitment, student
data management, advising assignments, and planning and program review Led departmental faculty in
the development of new and revised policies and procedures; Recommended the appointment of new
faculty members, promotions, reappointments; Presided over departmental meetings.
Accomplishments: Coordinated preparation for, and successful accreditation review of Counseling
Psychology and School Psychology by the American Psychological Association. Coordinated
preparation for, and successful accreditation reviews for the National Council for Accreditation of
Teacher Education and the National Association of School Psychologists; Significantly increased
funding for graduate student research; Gained two new Teacher Assistantship lines; Gained a new
(Top-Twenty) faculty line as a result of performance with the college's university's strategic
initiatives; Developed and coordinated a comprehensive plan to make the department more inclusive
across all domains yielding a significantly increased departmental faculty and student diversity; Led
department in accomplishing the most faculty and graduate student diversity in the College, which lead
to the receipt of a UK President's Commission on Diversity recognition; Mentored six junior faculty

Responsibilities: Assisted the director with duties of the program, especially in the areas of program
coordination and community engagement. A major responsibility was the development,
implementation, public relations, and evaluation of every aspect of the annual Black Women's
Conference.
Accomplishments: Planned and coordinated an annual three-day Black Women's Conference event
that was directed toward both the University of Kentucky scholars and wider Lexington communities.
Special care was taken to develop diverse themes that allowed women to explore the multidimensional
levels of Black women nationally and internationally, historically and contemporarily. The
conferences highlighted a different theme each year and brought to the UK campus speakers of
(inter)national reputation who have made major contributions to the study of the roles and experiences
of Black women, while also including local persons from the community in panel discussions and
other conference aspects as appropriate. Community involvement and engagement was a very
significant part of these events. During my tenure, I developed and implemented a special community
component to the conference that involved local churches and various community social service
agencies.
