Improper installation could result in injury to the patient or operator.• Always make sure that all cots meet the installation specifications for the Stryker cot fastener system.• Always replace the cot fastener if it has been involved in an accident to avoid the risk of injury due to product damage.• Always use any appropriate personal protective equipment while power washing to avoid inhaling contagion. Power

washing equipment may aerate contamination.• Always wipe the product with clean water and dry after cleaning. Some cleaning products are corrosive in nature and

may cause damage to the product. Failure to properly rinse and dry the product leaves a corrosive residue on thesurface of the product and may cause premature corrosion of critical components.

PPrroodduucctt ddeessccrriippttiioonn

The Stryker Model 6373 ambulance cot fastener holds a compatible ambulance cot in an emergency vehicle for patienttransport purposes. The 6373 ambulance cot fastener performs this function after the user manually loads the compatiblecot into the emergency vehicle and guides it into the fastener.

IInnddiiccaattiioonnss ffoorr uussee

The Model 6373 manual cot fastener secures compatible ambulance cots during transport. The fastener is intended for usein pre-hospital environments, in emergency and non-emergency applications. Operate the product by trained professionalsonly. This includes emergency medical service and medical first responders.

EExxppeecctteedd sseerrvviiccee lliiffee

Cot fasteners have a seven year expected service life under normal use conditions and with appropriate periodicmaintenance.

The Model 6100 M-1 cot, in combination with a Model 6373, 6376, and 6381 cot fastener system, is designed inaccordance to BS EN 1789, Medical Vehicles and their Equipment - Road Ambulances. The cot fastener system must beinstalled by qualified personnel to be in conformance to this standard. 1/4 in. steel backing plates (or equivalent) are

required beneath the mounting surface (ambulance floor or tray system) at all mounting points. Before putting the systeminto service, test the installation using BS EN 1789 as a minimum.

The Model 6100 M-1 cot, equipped with the AS/NZS 4535 upgrade, in combination with a Model 6373, 6376, or 6381 cotfastener system, is designed in accordance to AS/NZS 4535 Australian/New Zealand Standard - Ambulance RestraintSystems. The cot fastener system must be installed by qualified personnel to be in conformance to this standard. 1/4 in.steel backing plates (or equivalent) are required beneath the mounting surface (ambulance floor or tray system) at allmounting points. Before putting the system into service, test the installation using AS/NZS 4535 as a minimum.

Side restraint belts are required to conform to BS EN 1789 Medical Vehicles and their Equipment - Road Ambulances. Siderestraint belts are not required for applications where this standard does not apply.

The Stryker Model 6373, 6376, and 6381 cot fastener systems are compatible only with cots that conform to the installationspecifications.

CClleeaanniinnggWWAARRNNIINNGG -- Always use any appropriate personal protective equipment while power washing to avoid inhaling contagion.Power washing equipment may aerate contamination.

CCAAUUTTIIOONN• Do not steam clean or ultrasonically clean the product.• Do not exceed 180°F (82°C) as the maximum water temperature.• Do not exceed 240°F (115°C) as the maximum air dry temperature (cart washers).• Do not exceed 1500 psi (130.5 bar) as the maximum water pressure. If you are using a hand held wand to wash the

product, keep the pressure nozzle at a minimum of 24 in. (61 cm) from the product.

The product is power washable. The product may show some signs of oxidation or discoloration from continuous washing.No degradation of the product’s performance will occur from power washing if you follow proper procedures.

• Follow the cleaning solution manufacturer’s dilution recommendations exactly.

• Power wash with recommended cleaners.

• Power wash the rails and interface plates with a hand held wand unit or wipe the product with a clean cloth andrecommended cleaners.

SSuuggggeesstteedd cclleeaanneerrss

In general, when used in concentrations recommended by the manufacturer, either phenolic type or quaternary (excludingVViirreexx® TB) type disinfectants can be used. Iodophor type disinfectants are not recommended for use because stainingmay occur.

WWAARRNNIINNGG -- Always wipe the product with clean water and dry after cleaning. Some cleaning products are corrosive innature and may cause damage to the product. Failure to properly rinse and dry the product leaves a corrosive residue onthe surface of the product and may cause premature corrosion of critical components.

Suggested cleaners include:

• Quaternary cleaners (active ingredient - ammonium chloride)

• Phenolic cleaners (active ingredient - o-phenylphenol)

• Chlorinated bleach solution (5.25% - less than 1 part bleach to 100 parts water)

Avoid over saturation. Do not allow the product to stay wet longer than the chemical manufacturer's guidelines for properdisinfecting.

NNoottee -- Failure to follow the above directions when using these types of cleaners may void this product’s warranty.
