What is the Problem with Business Aviation?• Business Aviation is stagnant at best in Europe, why?• The business aviation industry is not attracting new users,
why?• How do we create new users of business aviation?
The Business World is Growing• 30-years ago typical SME’s operated in and served a
relatively small geographic catchment area based upon their ability to project their product or service into that area
• Today technology and the internet enables SME’s to operate and compete globally
• Technology drives business but the power of presence is still critical
• Margins are always tight and presence can be expensive
• 500m inhabitants in 27 countries, >4.5m km2, majority of urban centres connected by <2-hours flight time
• Annual per capita income €5,500 - €55,000 • Business travel expenditure rising 0.9% across the zone with
51% of spend focussed on business development activity*• Business priority when considering travel #1 cost control #2
safety and security*• Air (39%) and hotel (24%) expenditure represents the largest
constituents of business travel spend**Amex European Business Travel Barometer EVP 2015
The Market - Europe
Remember When This Was Revolutionary?
The Airline World is Shrinking• 30-years ago airspace deregulation opened up markets to
the new and revolutionary low cost airlines• Legacy airline business models were disrupted and changed
fundamentally• Airline consolidation is leading to contractions in route
networks, reducing passenger choice and flexibility and increasing overall cost
• Around 3000 airports in the EU but only around 10% of them are served by scheduled airline services
The Travellers Challenge• Restrictive airline networks mean the critical costs of
business presence are actually increasing• The benefits of low cost carriers to the leisure travel market
are not being realised for business travellers• Restricted route networks, hub & spoke operations and
reduced operating frequency, significantly increase costs to business travellers which impacts on margin and limits growth potential
• Business aviation needs to recognise and exploit this opportunity
Shouldn’t it be as simple as calling a taxi?
The New Business Class• Next generation, low cost, point-to-point and on demand air
taxi services• Where you need to go and not where the airline wants to
take you• Presence when you need it and not when the airline gets
you there• Reducing the overall cost of business travel and maximising
the value of time• Convenience, flexibility and value
The Passenger• Someone like you!
• Likely to be engaged in small to medium sized businesses but enterprises won’t get turned away!
• Dynamic, in need of flexibility to meet rapidly changing demands• Regular European travel requirements and frustrated at the
experience• Time starved but typically self booking and not using TMC’s
• Cost and cash flow sensitive• Appreciates convenience, flexibility and value
Low-cost, point-to-point and on demandConvenience, flexibility and value
