Economics Round Table, Wednesday, October 12th

Is there hope for better performance of the U.S. economy, and

should we expect more from U.S. policy? Narayana

Kocherlakota is uniquely qualified to address these questions,

having come from a distinguished academic career to play a

key role in policy decisions during 2009-2015

as President of the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis. He is currently the inaugural

Lionel W. McKenzie Professor of Economics at the University of Rochester, and has

previously taught at Stanford and Northwestern. He is a Fellow of the Econometric

Society and has published over fifty scholarly articles in economics. Kocherlakota

received his PhD in economics from the University of Chicago and his A.B. in

mathematics from Princeton University.

Changes to our Faculty Club Team

You may recognize two new faces greeting you at the front desk. Please

welcome aboard Julie Lai Fatt and Kathie Landis, our newest staff members.

Julie recently graduated from UC San Diego with a Bachelor’s

degree in Communication and a minor in Business. She is a San Diego

native and came highly recommended from her previous position at the

University’s Alumni Office. She is excited to work closely with Julia,

growing our Premier Food Services special events.

Kathie comes to us with a strong sales and marketing background. Most

recently she spent six years at Liberty Station as an Event Sales Manager

where she worked with a broad spectrum of events, from board meetings, to

galas, to food festivals. She is excited to learn the catering side of the

business and strategize ways to build the faculty club membership.

Sadly, we must bid adieu to Reneee Hytha. She is packing her bags and

moving to North Carolina with her fiancée who will be stationed at Camp

Lejeune. Renee has been an instrumental part of our team, and she will be truly

missed. Please join us in wishing Renee the very best in her future new home.
