On the first day of a new process I like to sit down and talk with the dancers to learn something about each of them. I ask a few questions and typically this leads to a discussion. This year our discussion centred around the times we find ourselves on the verge of possible planetary catastrophe. At the end of our talk, Tylee Jones said, “I have some sad news... the black rhino is extinct.” This dance is for the black rhino. - K.A.

Thank you to Geanderson Mello and Marta Teja Mesa for their contribution to the creation process.
