How to use the platform to look for an internship / job?
• Alumni Network Officer : Cécile BATAILLE contact : [email protected] by phone at +33 671 048 639.
• The « CAREERS » tab • The « DIRECTORY »: how to look for former TSE students (by
name, by location)
• Useful tips : Be visible to recruiters Develop your network Be part of the community
16
How to use the platform to look for an internship / job?
Be visible to recruiters: Go to your profile page. In the presentation banner (with your profile pic) you’ll see “My CV”: click on the pen symbol to edit. My Online CV = Recruiters or other Alumni can download directly your CV from the platform (automatically generated or your own CV document uploaded) Public CV = create a web page accessible to anyone (without being logged into the TSE platform) => put it in your email signature! (better than LinkedIn only accessible to LinkedIn users)
Develop your network: If you are not in contact with the student/Alumni you won’t be able to see his/her entire profile. Connect: click on “Add to my contacts” at the top (in grey, transparent, not really visible…) Don’t hesitate to add people with interesting job titles or sector for you and to develop it by asking them advice based on their experience and career! Connecting with people can help build your future career.
Be part of the TSE Alumni community: Update your profile regularly (job location etc.) so that recruiters can have accurate information. We try to organize events throughout the world (Alumni meet up): if we know where you are we can invite you to such events. Get involved: Alumni can give us information about internships and jobs, be proactive (express clearly your career goals) and stay around = it will be easier to help someone we know that someone staying in the shade…

Internship Evaluation – Final Report
You must post your Final Report before the 30th September (This date may vary depending on your M2 Director) on the TSE Careers Moodle Page. Then, you must send it by email your Academic Advisor. Your Internship Report will be evaluated by your Academic Advisor, and then you will graduate in October. The standard frame we expect from a good report is the following: - Basic professional context (<5 pages) - Context and objective of your work (2-6 pages) - Sources and state of the art on the subject (3-10 pages) - Your input, your insights (15-25 pages) - Summary of your result and further topics to analyze (1-2 pages) - Technical appendix (< 20 pages). Your report must not be more than 40 pages long, technical appendix excluded.
31
Internship Evaluation – Final Report
Remember that your report must remain understandable by someone who knows the field you work on but who is not a specialist of the issue you have analyzed ; hence any technical aspect must be explained and replaced in its context and objective. It must be written ONLY in correct English, whatever the language used in the workplace you have worked in; this requirement is motivated by obvious reasons: lectures are taught in English, and this allows the M2 director to circulate your report throughout the TSE Faculty and for you to forward it later to any institutions during your job search. Any demand for writing your final report in French must remain exceptional and has been approved by your M2 director. .
32
Internship Evaluation – Company Evaluation
The evaluation grid will be sent by email to your supervisor two weeks before the end of your internship. This evaluation form must be send by your Tutor to [email protected] before the end of your internship. Even if your internship is not finished, it is very important that you remind your internship supervisor to fill this in. Without this filled document, you will be severely penalized !
Your company evaluation must be stamped by your host company / institution !

Internship Evaluation – Confidentiality clause
Article 10 of your internship agrement « Duty of discretion and confidentiality »
“The duty of confidentiality must at all times be observed, with its specific aspects taken into account by the host organization. The intern commits to refrain from using the information collected or obtained by him, under any circumstances, for purposes of publication or disclosure to third parties without prior consent of the host organization, including in the internship report. This commitment applies not only to the internship period but shall extend after its conclusion as well. The intern commits to not retain, remove, or copy any documents or software of any kind belonging to the host organization, except upon prior approval from the latter. For purposes of preserving the confidentiality of the information contained in the internship report, the host organization may request a restriction on the distribution of the report, or the removal of certain confidential information. Persons with a need to know shall be constrained by commitments to professional secrecy to refrain from any use or disclosure of the information in the report”
If this article is not enough, your company can produce a confidentiality agreement which will be signed by you and the TSE (example next page)
If the information on the report are strictly confidential, you might not be obliged to post your summary/final report on Moodle. Please contact your M1 Director with [email protected] for more details

Dissertations
The procedure to start working on a dissertation: 1. Find by yourself your advisor and your thesis subject. The advisor can
help you in defining your subject but you have to be the initiator.
2. Once you have found an advisor and a subject, have them validated by your M2 director (by sending an email).
3. Ask your advisor to confirm that he agrees to be your academic advisor by email with [email protected] on copy.
You should meet your thesis advisor regularly, and as soon as possible, to be sure that your research is going in the right direction and meeting usual expectations for a research Master thesis. You should send your thesis to your academic advisor, and post it on The Careers Moodle Page before the 30th September (This date may vary depending on your M2 Director).
37
Plagiarism
All Internship Reports and Dissertations will be checked for plagiarism, this is stipulated in the internal rules of the University and the TSE. Please check your report for plagiarism (over 20% will not be accepted) before you post it on Moodle. You can only post your report once so be careful that you have checked thoroughly before posting.
