Because of this we were able to create backlit displays for new market applications. this major undertaking. Given the size of the project, the time pressure involved and M2 Printing’s knowledge and experience in such large projects, the large-format printing company collaborated with Exposize, a direct competitor. M2 Printing and Exposize combined their expertise to deliver head-turning, yet visually consistent show displays.
According to Sander Muller, managing director of M2 Printing, “With a major project such as this there’s always a lot more to consider than just printing, such as files not being delivered on time or files being changed at the last minute, giving rise to huge time pressure, and the logistical planning and project management. This is why we sought out the best solution for the client. Together with Exposize, we presented the plan and then won the order.”
M2 Printing handled all of the project management and communication with Kubik. “This is project management at the highest level,” says Muller. “The activities and coordination are actually more work than the printing itself. You have to think how you’re going to organise it, right down to the finest detail.”
“Because Exposize and M2 Printing work with the same brand of printers and inks, a high and consistent quality was guaranteed,” says Exposize managing director Eric Verkerk. “The VUTEk printers and staff in Enkhuizen and Eindhoven worked overtime over just a few months, and the result was certainly impressive.” Along with superb colour, AutoRAI exhibited greater harmony in the look and feel of the show.

Constructing the largest gambling machine
To begin construction of the largest slot machine in the country, M2 Printing used a special day-and-night print technique to enable 24-hour visibility. The amazing slot machine was created to promote the new Gran Casino Tiel, which is located in the Tiel Van Der Valk hotel by the motorway.
M2 Printing recommended the day-and-night print technique so passers-by could clearly see the slot machine on the buidling at any time of day or night. Then, after checking with 3M in the Netherlands, M2 used a special foil which could be applied and removed from the natural stone of the building without causing ghosting or any other kind of damage.
All told, M2 produced and mounted over 300 m2 of foil on the 60 metre tower of the Van Der Valk Hotel to create a supersized slot machine. Foil material, which had been printed with three layers of ink, was applied to the windows, making the prints very visible by daytime as well as by night when they are backlit.
