large and small switchboard/panel
meter cases (GE, Westinghouse,
Basler Style …) without having to
change existing wiring.

be contacted and they will interface
with SUSI for support as needed
Application & Benefits
• These Retrofit Panel Adapters (SWD Series)
allow the user to install a Bitronics M650
meter into virtually any switchboard panel.
This provides an upgrade to a reliable,
modern SCADA meter with full (serial
and/or Ethernet) Modbus or DNP3
communications capability.
• Easy installation. No re-wiring or de-
energizing translates into lower labor
costs, which makes the meter upgrade
feasible for many applications
• Especially good for applications where
there are old meters, asbestos wiring or
very tight regulations
• Less expensive solution than using
switchboard meters or A-base meters

Identifying the Proper Adapter
1. Determine existing meter information
• Meter manufacturer ( GE, Westinghouse…)
• Meter type or model (DS-64, D4B-3F…)
• Service configuration (4 Wire Y, 3 element, 3 Stator…)
2. Existing communication ( Pulse output, RS485 …)
3. Dimensions (L x W x H)
4. External options on M650 (Pulse output, Ethernet…)
Taking pictures of the existing meter will cover items 1, 2 and 3.
Send them into Bitronics for determining the correct adapter.
The “SUSI ID” app will send and organize these pictures for identification.
Finding the correct adapter is easy with the SUSI ID App

Ordering the Bitronics M650 in SUSI Adapter
• From the Bitronics 2014 Price and Order Guide select the M650 with
options that customer wants.
• Having identified the proper meter being replaced, and the
corresponding SUSI Adapter, add 0 plus the two digit code that
corresponds to that part taken from the amendment to the Price
Guide. This now is the part number to be ordered.
Example:
• M650M3P511 is the M650 part number. To be entered into a SUSI
adapter SWDG549-M to replace a GE DS-54, Form 9, 3-element meter.
New part number is M650M3P5110AH.
