Concordia University’s MA in International Development & Service Application Checklist This program is designed for individuals who are committed to contributing to local and global communities through their leadership skills, personal involvement, and service to others. Ideal candidates are independent thinkers, flexible, have the ability to problem-solve, and can communicate effectively with all demographics in challenging situations and environments. The program involves active learning through hands-on experiences with candidates quickly putting the theories they have learned from their classes into practice in local and global communities. Admission to the MA in International Development & Service is competitive. Please complete the following checklist and send all materials to IPSL. All applications must be completed before initial review may begin. Deadlines » Complete applications for the MA in International Development & Service are reviewed as they are received (rolling basis). Submitting your application by the priority deadline allows IPSL and Concordia University to begin procuring your international housing and service placements. » Priority deadlines are as follows: Spring Semester – September 15 Fall Semester – May 15 » Applications received after the priority deadlines will continue to be reviewed, and quality candidates will be accepted as space is available. Admission Requirements & Application Checklist A complete MA in International Development & Service Application. A non-refundable application fee of $50 (make checks payable to “Concordia University” and note the name of applicant on the check memo line). Credits from prior institutions must be submitted UNLESS they are listed on your transcripts from the institution from which you received your baccalaureate degree. A minimum 2.8 Grade Point Average on a 4.0 scale, or the equivalent is preferred. We may review an applicant with a lower GPA upon petition by the applicant. Admission Requirements & Application Checklist

A complete MA in International Development & Service Application.

A non-refundable application fee of $50 (make checks payable to “Concordia University” and note the name of applicant on the check memo line).

Official, sealed transcripts verifying a baccalaureate degree from an accredited post-secondary institution. Credits from prior institutions must be submitted UNLESS they are listed on your transcripts from the institution from which you received your baccalaureate degree.

2. You will be notified of your admission decision typically 2-3 weeks after your interview.3. If you are accepted into the program, you must confirm your participation by submitting a non-refundable deposit of $300 that will be applied

to your tuition. Please submit your deposit within 10 days of receipt of your letter of acceptance. (Payment instructions will be included with the letter.)

» Please make sure your first and last names appear on every page of your application materials.

» Foreign language proficiency in any language is very beneficial but not a requirement for admission.

» U.S. applicants must have a passport that is valid for at least six months BEYOND THE END DATE of your last term abroad. If you do not have a passport, apply immediately.

IPSL assists U.S. citizens with procurement of the requisite visas for the study abroad terms. Non-U.S. applicants are responsible for making their own passport and visa arrangements but should consult with IPSL if they need assistance.
