You’re tee-rrific

Thank you so much for taking part in Macmillan’s Silverspoons Golf Competition 2018. As well as a great day of golfing fun, it’s a fantastic way to help support people affected by cancer.

It’s also a chance to get your hands on one of the biggest prizes in golf (sort of): our incredible silver spoon. Of course, you’ll need to win your round to claim the spoon. Do you have what it takes?

Chipping in extra

Here are some great ways to drive up donations even more.

1 Play your own contests on the day e.g. longest drive or closest to pin, with a suggested £1 donation to Macmillan*. Be sure to find a fun prize of your choosing for the winner.

2 You could ask local businesses to donate prizes and run a quiz or an auction in aid of Macmillan?

3 See if your players’ employers will match their donations

(some companies offer matched‑giving schemes so this isn’t as long a shot as it sounds!)

4 Help us promote Silverspoons Golf Competition by taking loads of pics and videos on the day. Share them with us, as well as any feedback, at [email protected] or facebook.com/macmillangolf

*No purchase necessary.

On the dayTop tips

1 As the competition secretary, try to club together as many players as you can; if you entered in 2017, try to get more players this time!

2 Choose a competition day up to 31 October 2018

that suits as many people as possible. Use the poster in this pack to spread the word.

3 Select an entry fee to go towards your club’s donation. To give you an idea of how it all adds up, £210 could fund a Macmillan nurse for a day.

Club rules

• If anyone can’t play on your competition day, they can still get involved by playing any day up to 31 October 2018.

• Play over 18 holes in Stableford or Stroke Play with full handicap allowance. Combine with any medal, Stableford or Stroke Play round.

• Please mark your scores clearly on the results card in this pack and send it to us by 30 November 2018.

• Keep men’s and ladies’ competitions separate unless you’re playing as a mixed team. The clubs

that return the best eight scores against par in each category will win a Challenge Trophy.

• As soon as we get your scores and donations, we’ll send you a prestigious Macmillan silver spoon to present to your winner!
