Facts Saturn is the least dense in our solar

system. The first astronomers thought the

rings were moons. Saturn has only been visited by 4

times by spacecraft. Saturn has 62 moons. Sometimes the rings disappear.

Saturn’s Atmosphere Saturn’s atmosphere is made up

approximately 75% hydrogen and 25% helium.

Saturn has some of the fastest winds in our solar system.

Saturn also has sulfur in it atmosphere.

It’s atmosphere is only visible from Earth.earth every 15 years.

Saturn’s Moons Jupiter is the only planet with more

moons. It has 63 altogether. Dozens of Saturn’s moons were

discovered in the last decade. Recently scientist have found moons

in the gap of the planet’s rings. The planet’s largest moon is Titan. Titan is the second largest moon in

the solar system.

Distance From The Sun Saturn’s distance from the sun is 1.4

billion km, the exact number is 1,433,449,370 km.

It is 891 million miles away. Saturn is actually following a elliptical

orbit around the sun.

Temperatures on Saturn

o It is impossible to know the temperature on Saturn.

o As you travel down into the planet temperatures and pressures rise.

o It actually generates heat.o It puts out 2.5 times as much energy

as the sun receives.

Saturn’s Rotation The rotation of the magnetic field

takes 10 hours and 39 minutes to complete a rotation.

The rotation of the planet can change over time.

For regions from the equator it takes 10 hours and 14 minutes.
