Components of Computer

Introduction

• I’m going to build a Medium Computer Build, which is used for normal tasks such as:

- Watching movies,

- Surfing the internet,

- Accessing to social network,

- Playing video games and,

- Doing project in Microsoft offices.

1. Case

• Box with lights, vents, and places for attaching cables.

• A larger case doesn’t always imply a more powerful computer, it’s what’s inside that counts.

• PC builders often design or select a case based on the type of motherboard that should fit inside.

2. Motherboard

• The computer’s main circuit board.

• A thin plate that holds the CPU, random access memory (RAM), firmware, and internal and external buses, while providing connectors for other peripherals.

• It connects directly or indirectly to every part of the computer.

3. Central processing unit (CPU)

• Located inside the computer case on the motherboard.

• It is the brain of the computer since its job is to execute computer programs.

• It is a two-inch ceramic square with a silicon chip located inside.

• It fits into the motherboard’s CPU socket, covered by the heat sink.

7. Cooling devices

• If a CPU isn’t cooled properly, it can cause damage to its components and circuitry; fans are used to cool the PC.
