Main Image: The main image perfectly depicts the genre of the magazine as we can see a guitar going all the way across the cover and the composition is good in the sense that both the person and the guitar overlap some of the other images but are also overlapped Masthead: This masthead is simple yet effective. The colour, though it is the same as the sell-line stands out from the rest of the cover. The broken/shattered effect on the font may reflect that the volume associated with the genre of rock, it has cracked because of the really loud rock music. Main Sell-line : The main sell-line is simply “Green Day” which shows the band must be well known if it is just the band name. The white font used stands out from the blacks and greens elsewhere on the cover, to catch a possible readers eye. Sub-Head: The sub-head explains any enigma codes expressed on the sell-lines. Words such as “Exclusive” and “New” commonly appear in sub- heads, this is used to get the audience to buy the magazine , because they will want to find out what this “exclusive” information is. Essentials: This is simply the barcode and issue number and date , this tells the reader which issue they are buying. The size of the text for this is very small which reflects the fact that although this is essential information, it has very little Lighting: The Lighting is clearly meant to reflect that of stage spotlighting, it may in fact be an image from an actual stage performance. Light clearly comes from behind the frontman as we see the glow around him, but it is also coming from in front of him as his face and torso are well lit. Colour: The colours are mostly dark with exception to the whites, greens and yellows which contrast the blacks so they stand out.

Main Image: The main image perfectly depicts the genre of the magazine as we can see a guitar going all the way across the cover and the composition is good in the sense that both the person and the guitar overlap some of the other images but are also overlapped by other headings and images.

Masthead: This masthead is simple yet effective. The colour, though it is the same as the sell-line stands out from the rest of the cover. The broken/shattered effect on the font may reflect that the volume associated with the genre of rock, it has cracked because of the really loud rock music.

Main Sell-line: The main sell-line is simply “Green Day” which shows the band must be well known if it is just the band name. The white font used stands out from the blacks and greens elsewhere on the cover, to catch a possible readers eye.

Sub-Head: The sub-head explains any enigma codes expressed on the sell-lines. Words such as “Exclusive” and “New” commonly appear in sub-heads, this is used to get the audience to buy the magazine , because they will want to find out what this “exclusive” information is.

Essentials: This is simply the barcode and issue number and date , this tells the reader which issue they are buying. The size of the text for this is very small which reflects the fact that although this is essential information, it has very little significance.

Lighting: The Lighting is clearly meant to reflect that of stage spotlighting, it may in fact be an image from an actual stage performance. Light clearly comes from behind the frontman as we see the glow around him, but it is also coming from in front of him as his face and torso are well lit.

Colour: The colours are mostly dark with exception to the whites, greens and yellows which contrast the blacks so they stand out.

Masthead: The Masthead stands out form the rest of the magazine due to it’s vibrant red, but it also has a white outline to make it all the more noticeable to the consumer. Although this masthead is rather simplistic it also has a memorable quality about it.

Main –Image: The main Image is rather striking in the sense that it is the band looking straight at the camera, this obviously gives the illusion that their eyes are following the consumer. The background of this image links into the sub-head about a studio in Italy

Sell-lines: The sell lines are typical of any magazine with words such as ‘plus’ and ‘exclusive’ that are used to grab the audiences attention and make them want to buy the magazine all the more.

Main Sell-line: The main sell-line is simply ‘MUSE’ which immediately tells the audience what the main double page spread is going to be about. This also stands out by using a deep red and a font typical of an Italian shop/restaurant sign (linking in to the sub-head).

Lighting: The lighting for the main image uses little or no artificial light as we can clearly see that the band are outside in an Italian rural area during the day.

Colour: The Colour scheme mainly consists of red, black and white. The red is used to show text and images o f high significance and the blacks and whites are just sub-heads and smaller text.

Essentials: This is simply the barcode and issue number and date , this tells the reader which issue they are buying. The size of the text for this is very small which reflects the fact that although this is essential information, it has very little significance.

Masthead: The Masthead barely stands out on this cover as a lot of white is used on the magazine cover elsewhere, maybe if it was red it would stand out more, like the main sell line.

Main –Image: The main Image is rather striking in the sense that it is the band looking straight at the camera, this obviously gives the illusion that their eyes are following the consumer. The background of the image is simply a blue burst.

Lighting: The lighting on the main image is completely artificial, this tells us it was taken inside, then the background can clearly be seen to have been added in the editing process.

Main Sell-line: The main sell line is ‘Bring Me The Horizon’ which immediately tells us what the main article in the magazine is going to be about.

Sell-lines: The sell lines are typical of any magazine with words such as ‘plus’ and ‘exclusive’ that are used to grab the audiences attention and make them want to buy the magazine all the more.

Colour: The Colour on this cover is very common, only 3 or 4 colours are used, red (you see this immediately) blue (not as noticeable) white and black.

Essentials: This is simply the barcode and issue number and date , this tells the reader which issue they are buying. The size of the text for this is very small which reflects the fact that although this is essential information, it has very little significance.
