Functions of a Magazine Advert
The functions of a magazine advert is to:
- Promote the artist- Sell the album- Eye catchy and stand out
My magazine advert does not have a release date on it. This was a flaw in which I realised and it doesn’t portray an actual date to the audience about when the album is being released. This was a convention that I did not adhere to.
A convention that I did adhere to was the name of the artist being on the magazine advert. It is in the synergetic font that I have used throughout my different products; it appeared in my digipak and my main product therefore creating a strong image for the star.
On the magazine advert I have also included the album name which is one the of the most important things as the magazine advert is trying to sell the album. It is clear and in the same font throughout all my products, again creating synergy.
Another element of conventions that I have adhered to is having a clear image, which shows the star image in a strong image. From the music video she is represented as a strong independent woman and she needs to be reflected this way consistently.
I have a lot of information at the bottom of my magazine advert, which also brings intertextuality as I included a quote from Q magazine, which features on my digipak being synergetic. It gives details about where to buy the album and the artists website.
