Magazine Cover photo explanation
(and how we got to our final piece)
This is the first re-take we took – looking over shoulder shot
•We thought it would be an interesting idea to get the character to look over her shoulder and look at the audience to create a boundary between themselves and the audience
IMPROVMENTS
• Doesn’t create an intense enough vibe so need characters
body position facing towards camera
• Eyes need to be wider – this is more of a solitary look
This is the second re-take we took – Looking straight at the audience
•We wanted the main character to look straight at the camera. •This was so the image would stick to the conventions of a magazine cover where the character tends to make eye contact with the reader.
IMPROVMENTS
•There was too much going on in the background
•We thought we could place the character in a more intimidating
position
KEEP – body position facing viewer
Third re-take – Blank background •The blank background
makes it easier to focus on the character more as well as edit onto the magazine cover•Body position faces the viewer to show more interaction between the character and reader
IMPROVMENTS
• Shot should be from knees up – this image only shows waist up
(stick to conventions of a magazine cover image)
KEEP - blank background - eyes wide-open
Fourth re-take – Picture taken from knees up
•The image has been taken from the characters knees-up•This is too stick to the conventions of a magazine front cover
IMPROVMENTS
• Position of the character needs to look a lot creepier in order to
portray a horror film – at the moment her body position is
rather blank and doesn’t portray a certain genre
KEEP - blank background - eyes wide-open
Fifth re-take – Action shot
•We thought it would be a good idea to take an image through the motion of ‘action shot’•We got the main character to push off from the wall so it created a more intense body position and would make her face stand out to her body – which we felt was the most important part of the image (to make the facial expression stand out)
THIS WILL BE OUR FINAL IMAGE
