Magazine preference questionnaire

This is the questionnaire I have produced to receive feedback to help me with my initial ideas

… AND THIS IS MY FEEDBACK

Gender

MalesFemales

By Using this question as an option I am able to see from the random sample I selected to participate in my

questionnaire the majority of people who read magazines are female.

The percentage for the females was 63% and for the males was 37%, this shows a significant difference

between both genders in my feedback from my questionnaire.

What this shows us is that more females go out and buy paper magazines that they can sit down and read.

However, there is still a larger percentage of males that read paper magazines, this means that it would be

possible to create a magazine that would be appreciated by both males and females.

I believe that a magazine would sell more if aimed at females as they buy magazines more often and enjoy

reading about different events and trend forecasts.

From the feedback I received from my questionnaire, I have found from

my sample that the majority of people in the area that read

magazines are either between the ages of 16-20 and 21-25.

The percentages however, are still significantly larger for the category

of 16-20 with 62% whereas the category for 21-25 was only 25%.

This shows that younger people still have time to read magazines, even

though they are now accessible through other media outlets such as

mobile devices (which you might expect from younger people)

Do you read magazines often?

Yes No

I used this as part of my questionnaire to give me brief knowledge on whether or not

the sample used read magazines on a regular basis.

From the slide before this we see that 63% of people were aged 16-20 and from this

slide we can see that 62% of everyone who I received feedback from does read

magazines on a regular basis.

What this part of the questionnaire shows the percentage of people that read

magazines on a regular basis. This therefore allows me to think about how regularly

people would buy a magazine that I have produced. So, I can decide whether I would make the content of my magazine the kind

of content that would be in a weekly magazine or a monthly magazine.

What kind of mgazines fo you read?

Fashion Music Television and cinema Home and lifestyle Historical events Local events

This was the most vital question on my questionnaire as this will help me decide what my

magazine will be based on.

From the chart you are able to see that the vast majority of people read fashion magazines.

As 67% of the sample have said that they prefer to read fashion magazines this has allowed me to

look at more of a fashion based regional magazine.

I believe that the majority of people have chosen their favourite kind of magazines to read as being fashion as there is a higher percentage of females that read magazine than there is a males. Along with this fashion is becoming a growing aspect of life as it is becoming more and more important everyday. Women use fashion to show their social class and to show their personalities. Therefore they bounce their fashion off celebrities and other people in the public eye, this allows women to feel as important as these people. This also makes them feel more glamourous if they can wear the same clothes as the celebrities and designers they watch daily.
