This month December is a very busy month for us because of all the company picnics, holiday par-ties, country clubs, & family shows. We also started a blog called A Magicians Life where I plan on telling more of what is involved in our travels and our adventures on the road. Please check it out at wesiseli.blogspot.com. I plan on entering a new blog at least once a week. Natalie & I get into the holiday spirit each & every year by doing our part to give back. We performed our 24 hour magic show for charity the day before Thanks-giving. We perform a free magic show for the Ronald McDonald house in Charlottes-ville each & every year. We purchase toys for the toys for tots program and we even pick a child from the angel tree program. We are truly blessed to be able to do what we love for a living. Even though our sched-ule is sometimes hectic, we know we are so lucky to be full time performers.

With the holiday season already here it can get very crazy. We all need to take time to remember the reason for the season! Quote of the month Edison failed 10, 000 times before he made the electric light. Do not be discouraged if you fail a few times. Napoleon Hill

Who is this guy? Bob Little

Bob Little is a wild and crazy guy known as “the wiz” he is an amazing card magician known mainly as a dealer, but he is much more. He is known all over the world as a com-edy magician and an amazing lecturer. David Copperfield has even been quoted saying “Bob Little’s Blue Ribbon lecture is the greatest and most fun lecture on a deck of cards in the world”. On the same video it shows Bob’s Dovino Act where he dresses up like a dove and produces Barbie dolls from silks and instead of cages he puts them in a doll house. It was definitely original and only Bob could come up with something like that. Probably my favorite trick of Bob’s is his broom suspension. It is usually done where a girl has a broom placed under her arm and ends up floating only on the bristles the broom. Well Bob sets up the trick the same way, but has the girl make the broom float magically, it is very funny. I knew of Bob from his signed 8x10 that I ended up with in a magic collection I purchased. The picture of him was unique; he had a playing card stuck to his forehead and a card sticking out of each ear. Natalie & I first met Bob at the M.A.E.S. convention in 2008, he was a dealer there and I soon found out he was a really nice guy and a favorite in the dealer demo show. He also has an annual convention held in Pa called Bob Little’s Super Sun-day, although I have never attended I have only heard great things . Keep ‘em laughing Bob, we hope to see you again soon.

Starting on November 23rd at 10:00 am —November 24th at 10:00 am I performed 24 hours of magic to raise money for the Children’s Miracle Network. This year Party Magic, the entertainment agency side of our business, sponsored the event. It was held in front of Wal-Mart in Staunton VA. I advertised 72 shows in 24 hours which equals 10 minutes on and 10 minutes off the entire time, but I end up doing a lot more magic than that; sometimes my sets went upwards of 1 hour for a single group of people. Natalie was there with me through the entire event. She was by my side helping me reset the magic tricks during my sets & making tons of hot chocolate during the over night hours. The event went great! I was even asked to perform a 15 minute set for the staff of Wal-Mart at 9:30 am on the 24th. I only had a half hour to go and I was ex-hausted but, I toughed it out and they had a lot of fun. Thanks again to all those who came out and supported us, we will see you again next year!

David Copperfield sent out a press release last year claiming to have found the fountain of youth. He purchased a series of islands in the Bahamas and says that there is a body of water on one of the islands that seems to have miraculous powers. He says if a brown dead leaf falls into the water it turns green again or if a bug or insect near death comes in contact with the water they fly away. David has now hired a team of top bi-ologists and geologists to come and test the water and the effects it could possibly have on humans. Until the extensive tests are carried out, the magician is refusing anyone else access to the water. Myths surrounding the 'Fountain of Youth' have been around for hundreds of years. He says he found the chain of islands by connecting lines be-tween magical places around the earth. He intersected lines from Stonehenge to the statues in Easter Island and another line between the Pyramid of Gaza in Egypt and the Pyramid of the sun in Mexico. “Those four lines intersect at a specific spot in the ocean and it so happens that is where my islands are. “

Due to the overwhelming success with the Zing Zang Zoom show Ringling Bros cre-ated, they have decided to add magic to another of their road shows with the help of David DaVinci performing more than 30 minutes during the show. DaVinci’s new show with Ringling Bros. is called Illuscination. It is said to feature eye-popping illu-sions, mind boggling transformations, and unique close up magic. DaVinci’s most dangerous feat will involve him suspended upside down 3 stories over the lions den as he attempts to escape from a straight jacket. Illuscination is set to tour for the next 2 years. I always liked the circus as a kid, but with all the magic they keep adding it seems to be getting cooler over the years!

For years there have been rumors about the CIA using magic techniques to get the job done. Until now they were just rumors. A lot of the people who could have looked into it did not because it seemed too much like a fantasy. In 2007 a retired C.I.A. officer unearthed the now public informa-tion that was kept secret all those years. It all started in the early 1950’s when magician John Mul-holland wrote a series of manuals that was meant to heighten the art of espionage. It was thought that every copy was destroyed in 1973. It is said that the new book is full of trickery designed to help the agents accomplish secretly getting poison into the enemy’s drink or secretly removing documents without anyone notic-ing. According to sources, magic historians have reported some of these stories in the past, but the authors of this new book say they are the first to publish everything in its en-tirety. If you enjoy James Bond and like Houdini you will love this book….

Albemarle Magazine has put out its first ever awards issue and polled their readers on a bunch of different categories; favorite restaurants, parks and so on. We are proud to announce that Wes Iseli Magician won 1st place as the #1 entertainer in central Virginia for 2009. We were very surprised to win this award especially since we thought you had to advertise with them to get an award. We figure that definitely makes it more special since we earned it and did not buy it.

What a great year 2009 was for Natalie & I. We worked hard, played hard, and made a lot of memories.

Here are a few of the highlights of 2009. This list does not include the hundreds of shows and countless hours driving from show to show.

We were lucky enough to take several mini vacations this year including our trip to Pennsylvania to visit the Amish country, Hershey park and Gettysburg. We got to spend a week in Myrtle Beach and 3 days at the Ma-gicians Alliance of Eastern States convention in Carlisle Pa. We were able to perform for Virginia Living Tele-vision this spring. We broke our personal record this summer by performing 21 shows in one week. I per-formed for the first time an upside down straight jacket escape where I was put in a straight jacket and chained at the ankles and hoisted into the air four stories above the ground. Natalie & I got to spend 3 days with one of our favorite magicians Rocco Silano at his home in New Jersey to study magic with him. We got to visit Houdini's grave in New York. I was hired to lecture at a couple of magic clubs to teach them magic and marketing principals. I produced a motorcycle out of thin air and filmed it for youtube.com. Most recently Natalie & I performed our 3rd annual 24 hours of magic for charity, where I preformed 72 mini magic shows in 24 hours.

The Effect: The magician asks the audience to list as many dif-ferent types of fruit as they can as he writes them down one at a time on separate post it notes and places each post it note in a clear container. After a bunch have been named you tell the au-dience you have made a prediction and it is in a brown grocery bag. You then ask the spectator to choose any post it note they want out of the clear container. They open up the post it and it says orange and then you ask them to open up the brown bag and it is in fact an orange. Supplies you will need: large brown grocery bag, post it notes, a clear container, a pen and an orange Secret: As the audience is calling out different types of fruit you pretend to write what ever they call out but you really are writing orange on each & every sheet of post it
