The JUPITER Flat Glass Magnetic Compass
Bearing compass, steering compass, reflector compass and overhead compass for large vessels. A class A compass with a card diameter of 180mm. It meets ISO 449 standards and is type approved in acordance with the EC Council Directive 96/98/EC. Further type approvals for manyother countries are available on request. The Jupiter compass may be installed in all NaviPol binnacles and its accuracy is better than 0.5°.Weight: 8.7 kg.
Options include: Flux gate pick-off, shadow pin, wooden transport box, replacement parts kit, azimuth device.
The Flux Gate with the Integrated Sine / Cosine InterfaceThe Sperry Marine Flux Gate is a new in house development which combines modern electronic technology with SMD manufacturingtechniques to produce a very compact unit which also incorporates a fully integrated sine/cosine interface.

Universal Digital RepeaterThe Universal Digital Repeater in combination with NaviPilot V / M indicates the corrected magnetic compass heading through the RS 422magnetic compass heading output from NaviPilot V / M. The Universal Digital Repeater is available as a console version and in a watertighthousing with bracket attachment. Type approved in accordance with the EC Council Directive 96/98/EC.

NaviPilot V /M
NaviPilot V / M is an autopilot/transmitting magnetic compass combination which provides three separatemagnetic compass heading reference outputs intended for use by peripheral equipment such as SATCOM,radar, GPS radio direction finders, etc. The format of each output is 6 steps per degree of azimuth. The micro-processor controlled autopilot NaviPilot V / M has an integral correction function for the compensation of anynonlinearity between the magnetic compass and the fluxgate. This, together with a magnetic variationparameter input facility (also fully integrated) results in three emulated gyrocompass true north heading out-puts. For all large yachts, and also for many smaller types of commercial vessels, which are usually equippedas standard with radar, GPS and often SATCOM but lack a gyrocompass, this autopilot/transmitting magneticcompass system provides an adequate and economical alternative to an investment in a costly gyrocompass.The cost of the transmitting magnetic compass function (in addition to the price of the autopilot) is onlyabout 5% of the cost of a conventional gyrocompass.
