MAH TR 1698 Maple Ave. YSRR PID 100327 Project Description The project will construct traffic signals at the intersections of Southern Blvd, Maple Ave (TR 1698), Park Ave, and the Youngstown and Southeastern Railroad Crossing DOT #873462B. The traffic signals will be interconnected with Youngstown and Southeastern Railroad circuitry and equipped with preemption. Installation will include any ancillary work to make the signals and circuitry function as designed, Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) compliant, and visible to roadway users. The MAH TR 1698 Maple Ave (PID 100327) project is located within Boardman Township, Mahoning County, Ohio. The project is specifically located at the intersections of Southern Blvd - Maple Ave and Maple Ave - Park Ave as well as the Youngstown and Southeastern Railroad grade crossing on Maple Ave that is between these intersections. The area immediately surrounding the project area is comprised of commercial and light industrial uses, with residential areas east of the project area on Maple Ave and northwest of the project area off of Southern Blvd. No detours or closures will occur as a result of this project. Temporary right-of-way totaling approximately 0.009 acres and permanent right-of-way totaling approximately 0.009 acres for a total of approximately 0.018 acres will be acquired in order to construct the proposed improvements. No adverse environmental impacts including air quality, floodplains, ecological resources, historic and cultural are expected. This project is sponsored by the Ohio Rail Development Commission.
