NEWS NUGGETS Aptitude Wizard : Dhruv Garg (X G) proved his mettle by qualifying the first “city level” round of “Times NIE Think & Learn Challenge” amongst top 10 percentile from over 2 lakh aspirants across 450 schools & received a Samsung Galaxy Tab at Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium. Celebrating Life : To develop all faculties of the the students, the school arranged refreshing PICNICS right from class VI to XII. Cleanliness is Next to Godliness: ‘Delivering talks on Hygiene, taking the Cleanliness Pledge everyday, organizing rallies, a broom & cleanliness Kit in every class’ are some of the measures enthusiastically adopted by children to make cleanliness a regular habit.

Yes failures too, because failures are but stepping stones to success. At MAPS, we celebrate life in all its myriad hues. This time we celebrate the addition of another floor and the inauguration of the swanky basement which was inaugurated by Sh. Pawan Gupta, President (AWS), Sh. Nand Kishore Aggarwal , Vice- President (AWS) and Sh. Bimal Prakash , Manager (MAPS) along with other management members. The floor added is ready and functioning, while work on the overhead dome is now complete. ESPRIT– Annual Prize Distribution cum Sports Day at MAPS is a mega-event that celebrates the spirit of camaraderie and sportsmanship, teaching our students to strive for excellence and harmony, on the field as well as in life. Life continues…………. And we continue to celebrate it !

Superlatives run short when speaking of Mrs. ANITA KUKRETI (Vice Principal). She has endeared herself to all with her gentle mannerisms and soft spoken ways. She has always put her heart in whatever she did, working untiringly for the welfare of the students and school.

In her long career of 34 years she was honored with a number of prestigious awards. She was the proud recipient of Dr RADHA KRISHNAN SMRITI AWARD in 2004, HUMAN RIGHT AWARD in 2003, HERBAL EDUCATION AND DEVELOPMENT AWARD in 2007 and SPIRITUAL AWARD in 2011 and the DISTINGUISHED TEACHER AWARD 2014 by Rotary Club, Delhi. MAPS bid her adieu on 31st October 2014 .The retirement of a special person is a watershed event for generations. When a beloved person retires, life pauses for a moment . Mrs Anita Kukreti will be missed by each Agarsainian, for the legacy of ethics, compassion, honesty, sincerity and devotion . Agarsainians pray that God’s grace be always with her !!!

ADIEU….

In the span of her illustrious 34 year long career at MAPS, she has ascended to the second highest post and into the hearts of all! She joined MAPS on 1st October, 1980 as an earnest 26 year old ,brimming with zeal and passion. Six years later she was promoted to AT, then TGT in 1988 and to PGT in January 1994. She was declared the officiating Vice Principal in 2004 and was promoted to that post in April 2007.

With the grace of the Almighty, vision of the Management members and dedication of the Agarsainian Pariwar, , AURA 2014-The Dawn Of Empowered Minds’ an Inter-school competitive event is organized in the premises of the school each year. This year was all the more special as it extended its horizons and spread its wings to welcome not only schools that follow CBSE curriculum but also CBSE i curriculum. Most of the competitions were based on exploring, extending and experimenting requiring little pre-preparation, thus testing the participants’ reasoning, presence of mind and various other skills.

Winners of the individual events were appreciated and acknowledged with a certificate. The vote of thanks was presented by the school Principal ,Ms. Punam Gupta who applauded not only the participants but also the Agarsainians who contributed in making the show a great success.

MAPS INTERACT CLUB

Our Interactors visited Air Force Station, Hindan, G h a z i a b a d t o w i t n e s s t h e prestigious parade. The day reminds us of the glorious past and golden history of IAF and sacrifices made by our Air Warriors. The event constituted of the ceremonial parade, aerobatic show by IAF’s helicopters’ team ‘Sarang’, para jumping as well as static display of various aircrafts and arms drill by Air Warrior Drill Team.

The Club had an opportunity t o p r e s e n t themselves at Pragati Maidan. The Interactors were conferred w i t h t h e responsibility of spreading the message of Road Safety. The occasion was the inauguration of Road Safety exhibition by Mr. B.S. Bassi, Commissioner of Delhi Police with the theme ‘Caution and Care Makes Accidents Rare’. The Nukkad Natak by students of MAPS, captured the attention of everyone and didn’t take much time to instill in every heart the message-‘FOLLOW ROAD SAFETY’ RULES’.

T h i n k i n g o f students’ safety and being concerned for the environment, I n t e r a c t C l u b members took a pledge to fight for their right to a safe, p o l l u t i o n - f r e e e n v i r o n m e n t . Surprise checks were conducted to prevent unwanted chaos in the school

E s t e e m e d M e m b e r s o f A g g a r w a l Welfare Society, t h e S c h o o l P r i n c i p a l , M r s . P u n a m G u p t a , V i c e Principal, Mrs. Anita Kukreti, Teacher Incharge Mrs. Jyoti Aggarwal, Head Boy, Daksh Dua and Head Girl, Priyanka Aggarwal along with the Interactors went to HRD Ministry, to meet HRD Minister Mrs. Smriti Zuber Irani and to present a cheque of 100000 for the Prime Minister Relief Fund for Jammu and Kashmir flood victims. It was an incredible experience for all the Interactors to meet a humble dignitary who interacted with the students regarding prevailing education system in India. She expressed her gratitude and conveyed warm wishes to all the Agarsainians for donating money for this gracious cause. She also accredited Mrs. Punam Gupta for giving opportunity to students to empathize and help the flood victims of Jammu and Kashmir.

I t wa s a Landmark in the history of the school when the Interact Club got the opportunity to meet the-H o n ’ b l e President of the country, Mr. Pranab Mukherjee at Rashtrapati Bhavan on Children’s Day with an intent to instil inspiration and motivation amongst the Interactors. The honourable President thereby addressed the students assembled in the Garden Hall. He propagated importance of education and schooling in one’s life and heartily congratulated the students on the propitious juncture of the Children’s Day. The President also motivated the students to participate in the ‘Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan’ with commitment and grit.

Interact team went to one of the branches of N A V J Y O T I , l o c a t e d a t Bawana, New Delhi, under the di r ect i on of M r . S u n n y N a g p a l (Manager) and his team. Interac-tors interacted with the little kids and involved them in various activities like art, craft and jazz. Interactors gifted the underprivileged children woolen garments to them and their families.
