LAST MEETING - March 6, 2020 – Jaren Johnson with WVIK; 90.3 FM

Jared Johnson has been the Director of Corporate Support at WVIK, Quad Cities NPR, since 2014. He oversees all fundraising at the station, is working on a new website, a mobile app and will soon be launching a second broadcast signal in the QC. The station is owned by Augustana College and has about 40,000 listen-ers. 55% are male and 45% female. Listeners love the station, as there are no commercials. A few of the local partners the station has are Bethany for Children, Family Resources, Child Abuse Council, River Action, Nahant Marsh and several others. The station has about 100 volunteers that read and record items to be broadcast on the station. These include obituaries and local news items. They are available on the WVIK app or Alexa. March birthdays were celebrated on Friday. Steve Fahrenkrog was the winner of $90 from the 50/50 drawing. Seven of Tracy’s team of nine, enjoyed a steak dinner as the winning team of the membership con-test. Deanna Valliere gave $28 for the 28 years her husband; John has run the Glynn’s Creek Golf Course that opened (very early) on March 3 for the season. Two guests attended on Friday, Joe Krenzelok, guest of Rich Pokora and Sayed Shah, guest of Bill Tubbs.

The 4 Way Test Of the things we THINK SAY or DO

1. Is it the TRUTH?

2. Is it FAIR to all concerned?

3. Will it build GOOD WILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIPS? 4. Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?
