SENSORS

Models

There are four sensor models:

FlowCapt FC4 for snowdrift fluxes and wind-speed monitoring

SandFlow SF4 for windblown sand and wind-speed monitoring

RainFlow RF4 for rain and hail monitoring

WindFlow WF4 for strong winds and hurricanes monitoring

Mounting kits

Each sensor needs to be fastened to a mast or a flat surface using the appropriate mounting kit. Refer to the next sections for mounting instructions.

Accessories

The USB dongle accessory (UDONG), provided with the sensors, is a direct physical connection accessory from the sensor to a USB port. It enables the sensor’s power supply and the immediate use of all the software features of the ISAW-TOOLBOX freeware. The USB dongle is generic and can thus be used or interchanged with all ISAW sensors.

TMAST is a lightweight, robust, cost-effective and universal tripod mast that is easily transportable (modular in three parts). It allows all the usual ISAW sensor mountings, as well as supporting additional sensors or all other accessories or auxiliary equipment.

FC4 FlowCapt

FlowCapt sensor presented with its mounting kit (FCBRA)

The FlowCapt FC4 sensor is an ultra-robust instrument measuring solid particle flux intensities and wind speeds.

Instrument with no mobile parts (totally sealed acoustic instrument)

Omni-directional (even under the highest winds)

FC4 or SF4 mounting kit

FC4/SF4 mounting kit is composed of 2 cylindrical arms fastened to V brackets adaptable to a mast of outer diameter between 22 and 124 mm.

RF4/WF4 mounting kit is composed of 1 flat arm fastened to V brackets adaptable to a mast of outer diameter between 22 and 124 mm. The arm is from 0° to 90° tiltable (compatibility with all possible orientation of mast).

MOUNTING EXAMPLES

On a vertical, horizontal (or oblique) cylindrical mast with an outer diameter of 40 mm, use the provided V brackets.

On a vertical, horizontal (or oblique) cylindrical mast with an outer diameter of 25 mm, use the provided V brackets and reduction shims.

On a flat surface, screw the V brackets (or the arm directly) onto the surface.

Mounting as part of an ISAW station

Thanks to their excellent mechanical, electrical and software compatibility, the sensors are compatible with almost any kind of existing or planned meteorological or industrial installation (for more information, please refer to the User Guide available at www.isaw-products.com).
