Beginning at 7 p.m. Monday, Nov. 28, the annualAdvent Service is planned at the First PresbyterianChurch, 223 Main Street, Elwood.
Refreshments will be served in the multi-purpose areaat 7 p.m. with the program to follow at 7:30 p.m. in thesanctuary.
All men and women in the area are invited to attend.
The fourth annual “Light Up the Magic” lighting of uptown Elwood is planned at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov.26. Join the Master Elf, Elves of Character, Snowflake Princess and Mayor Todd Jones from the balcony ofthe Elwood Opera House for the kick off of the Christmas season in Elwood as they “flip the switch”to”Light Up the Magic.” At 7 p.m. the fifth annual “Bring Back the Magic” Christmas Parade will begin inthe vicinity of Willkie Park on North Anderson Street. The parade will travel south on Anderson Streetthrough the uptown area and turn left onto South B Street where it will end at the Municipal Building. A spe-cial someone will arrive at the end of the parade. There is still room for entries for the parade. For moreinformation call Christy Clark at the Municipal Building.

There are two homes forSanta Claus in the UnitedStates one is in Tirrington,Connecticut, where Santaand his helpers give out pres-ents. The other home is inWilmington, New York, wherea village for Santa and hisreindeer is located.
In Arizona they follow theMexican traditions called LasPosadas. Families play outthe parts of Mary and Josephsearching for somewhere tostay. They form a processionand visit their friends' andneighbors' homes where theyadmire each family's Nativitycrib. In parts of New Mexico,people place lighted candlesin paper bags filled with sandon streets and rooftops tolight the way for the ChristChild.

Main Street Art ShowThe Main Street group will sponsor an art show Dec. 3
at the Opera House Blue Room in Elwood.Families are invited to view the art presented by local
artists from 3 to 6 p.m.From 6 to 9 p.m. adults 21 and over are invited. There
will also be live entertainment.
