Major business opportunities in Sweden 2019–2022

Hässleholm–LundThe Hässleholm–Lund project is one of the links in a new high-speed network railway. Running through the heart of Sweden’s southern most province of Skåne, it’s the key to connecting the south of Sweden to Stockholm. Hässleholm–Lund is a 70 km long double-track high speed railway with a top speed of 320 km per hour. When the new main line is completed, you’ll be able to travel between Stockholm and Malmö in a significantly shorter amount of time than today’s 4 hours and 25 minutes. With the new network comes an increase in accessibility meaning both people and businesses will be brought closer together.Start of construction: Planned for 2027–2029.

Procurement informationThe Hässleholm–Lund Project is now undergoing the procurement of a localiza-tion study, the first step in the planning process towards a railway plan.

The Gothenburg–Borås projectThe new railway will create a rail connec-tion to Göteborg Landvetter Airport and link the region's two largest cities closer together. Gothenburg–Borås is a 60 km long double-track high-speed railway with the top speed of 250 km per hour. When the new main line is completed, you’ll be able to travel between Stockholm and Gothen-burg in a significantly shorter amount of time than today’s a just over three hours. With the new network comes an increase in accesibility meaning both people and business will be brought closer together. The contract starts: Planned for 2025–2027

The East Link ProjectThe East Link is the first part of a future high-speed network railway. The East Link project is the first step, a double-track high-speed railway between Järna and Linköping. The East Link will be built for a top speed of 250 km/h (155 mph). Our forecasts are that the East Link will cost SEK 54 billion to build (the 2017 price level). The project includes construction work for 160 kilometres (or 100 miles) of double track. We will build about 30 tunnels with lengths between 100 meters and 8 kilometres (approximately 330 feet and 4.9 miles). Total length about 25 kilometres (16 miles). We plan to build approximately 200 bridges, with a total length of about 10 kilometre (6 miles). We also plan to build tracks, contact lines, signal systems ERTMS and telecommunica-tions.

The construction of the East Link is planned to start in 2022. The construction time is expected to be over 10 years and by 2035 we expect the railway to be ready for traffic start.

Programme E18 Jakobsberg interchange–Hjulsta interchange including capacity increase as a result of E4 Bypass Stockholm The area around the districts of Hjulsta and Barkarby in north-western Stockholm will undergo a major change in the next 15 years with several infrastructure measures and large-scale developments.
