Please watch out for our Hooded Plovers
Have you heard about our local endangered species? They spend all their time down at the beach and there are currently only 23 adults left on the Bellarine!!!
Hooded Plovers are not the same as Lapwing Plovers (who swoop), they are small birds who spend their whole lives on our local beaches and are currently trying to raise their babies.
Hoodies need space to sit on their eggs and will leave the eggs if dogs or people get too close. So, if you and your dog love the beach – keep an eye out for signs and give the Hoodies a chance.
Surfside Primary School’s Twilight, Fresh Food Fair was very well attended by the whole school and the children really enjoyed getting involved with the setting up of their stalls.
We raised $22,000 on the night which goes a long way to supporting the Kitchen & Garden program for 2017. A great result for our 1st twilight fair.

Lincoln Park is taking shape
Those of you who have wandered past will have seen the progress made at Lincoln Park. Extensive landscaping and plantings have been completed with recent rains helping the cause.

If you need help, stay calm and attract attentionEven the most careful people can find themselves out of their limits in the water. If you are not feeling comfortable in the water and you require a lifeguard’s assistance to get back to shore, stay calm, raise your arm in the air and wave it from side to side.
