president’smessage Our January meeting was great and I want to thank Jane Witt from the WBA for joining us. First, let us all thank Kathy Staack, Scaffidi Motors, for her work with the new member orientation. She is doing a great job as Membership Chair. Next month’s meeting is a “can’t miss” fun night at Shooter’s. Rob Erbes, Associate Advisory Chair, has the evening planned and it will be a well attended meeting. I hope to see you all at the State Convention, February 5-8. If you haven’t gone to one, you are missing one of the best reasons to be a member. The convention is pure fun with classes, seminars and plenty of refreshments. Don’t miss it. Business Day in Madison is February 11th. It is your chance to be part of the Association’s legislative lobbying effort. Contact Bev to get signed up and join the group going down to Madison. The 2009 Home Show will be the best ever! Ryan Hyer, Hyer Construction and the Home Show Committee have put together a winner. It will have more seminars, more cooking classes, great advertising, about the same number of vendors. So if you haven’t reserved your booth, act now. As we move through February, the days will get longer and brighter and hopefully warmer. Good Luck and Good Health to you all.
John

Each January, we recognize the Spikes in our association, those individuals who have distinguished themselves by strengthening our organization through outstanding member recruitment and retention. Day in and day out, our Spikes keep our membership rolls refreshed with new colleagues, increasing our collective power among legislative and political decision-makers. Last but not least, their success at sharing the benefits of membership creates a reliable source of dues revenue, essential for our ongoing programs and services. For all of these reasons, our Spikes have earned the respect and gratitude of each of us for their invaluable service to our organization. Currently, we have 23 Builder and Associate members who have earned Spike status, and 16 who are Life Member Spikes. In celebration of Spike Appreciation Month, we are honored to give special recognition to the following individuals:
Blue SpikeTerry Dalsky, Aaron Cordy, Jennifer Novotny, Mark Robinson, Ryan Hyer, Pam Zinda, Bart Adams

21 Homes will be featured in the 2009 Parade of Homes, June 5-8th. Sixteen builders have committed to having a home in the Parade.
We will again be publishing a Parade of Homes Booklet. Last year’s book turned out well and we are asking for your cooperation so we can make this one even bigger and better. Getting this together is a monumental task and we are asking that you get your ads together and make you commitment as soon as possible. We encourage all members to advertise.
