We made a statement.KENDALL COLLEGE OF ART AND DESIGN
Premier Leadership Sponsor
ArtPrize Exhibition Center Sponsor and Exclusive Sponsor of the ArtPrize Juried Grand Prize through 2017
In 2012, Kendall College of Art and Design made a major contribution to the ArtPrize conversation as an Exhibition Center. This year, it’s making an emphatic statement by extending its Premier Leadership Sponsorship for the next five years. President David Rosen explains, “Last year showed me that besides the excitement, fun, and curiosity ArtPrize evoked, it was also providing a laboratory for exploration, conversation, and education that one finds in no other art event. To Kendall, ArtPrize sponsorship offers a chance to celebrate art and to help lead the conversation. We see our duty in helping ArtPrize continue to achieve its full capacity and establish its rightful place in the world of art. That is why we made a significant, long-term commitment.”
We made a destination.EDwARD JONES
Premier Benefactor Sponsor
ArtPrize Exhibition Center Sponsor
Investment firm Edward Jones leveraged support from its corporate offices to sponsor the St. Cecilia Exhibition Center during ArtPrize 2012. Financial Advisor Becky Anderson explains, “We realized that by creating a home site at St. Cecilia’s, we could help facilitate their engagement.” Establishing a base camp at the Exhibition Center gave Edward Jones a platform for creative interactions between advisors and their clients, ranging from wine tastings and trolley tours to an outdoor concert and educational events. “We created 17 events during the 19 days and hosted around 5,000 clients,” Anderson says. “We had a menu of various degrees of engagement and let our advisors choose how they wanted to participate. As a firm, we really value community engagement, and sponsorship gave us a wonderful opportunity to support art and the community while connecting to our clients.”
We made our contributions multiply.SCOTT CHRISTOPHER HOMES
Premier Benefactor Sponsor
Eames House of Cards Event Sponsor
ArtPrize approached Scott Christopher Homes with a concept for the Eames House of Cards and asked what they could do with it. Director of Operations Matt Reinsma says, “We reached out to local architecture firm VIA Design and challenged the trades we work with to join us in sponsoring the project. We were overwhelmed by the response. In all, 27 organizations came together and donated just over $60,000 to fund the program. They were eager to support ArtPrize, the community and a cause their employer believed in.” Their combined money and manpower helped Scott Christopher create a 5,000-card structure in Rosa Parks Circle, distribute another 5,000 cards for school kids and community members to decorate, and reassemble all of those cards in a street-side gallery at the UICA. Reinsma says, “We got involved because we’re artists in our own right, and artists tend to appreciate art. We just wanted to do whatever we could to help ArtPrize continue to thrive.”
Part art competition and part community phenomenon, ArtPrize is a vibrant, all-inclusive, and constantly evolving event unlike any other in the world.
OPEn AccESS Any space within the contest boundary can be a venue and any person over 18 can enter.
MASS PArticiPAtiOn The ArtPrize exhibition is independently organized by thousands of artists at hundreds of venues across three square miles. The resulting ecosystem transforms an entire city into an art experience unlike any other.
Art EducAtiOn Educational programming draws in more than 10,000 students of all ages and backgrounds, while the entire ArtPrize event turns the city into an urban laboratory for creative expression.

“Night and day is the difference between what I thought I was coming to and what I came to and how it changed my life…This is one of the best art experiences I have ever had. Where I was humbled. I learned things. I got out of myself.” - Jerry Saltz Senior Art Critic at New York Magazine
