Main Layer Settings

By using any of those options circled in YELLOW it will affect the “Sub Layers.”

Every item that is under the main layer is called a Sub Layer.

They Each come with their own “sub features” which will be covered on another page.

These “Sub Layers” will help you stay organized, and of course you can double click the text to give them meaningful names.

Labeling Your Layers

Staying organized is pretty easy with the new Layer system. All you have to do is double click on the text and you are able to rename your layer.

In this example we have One Main Layer, and Three Sub Layers.

Each Sub Layers have their own Properties and we will be discussing it.

Delete Layer Button

Clicking this button you are able to delete everything that is in that layer.

Note: The reason “Group Layer” doesn’t have a delete button is because it is my only “Main” layer.

Green Arrows

The green arrows move the layers up and down. Think of it as a sandwich and you like the lettuce on top and it is currently on the bottom.

Just select the bottom layer and move it up to the top by clicking on the arrows.

Show Hide Feature

Clicking this will either close the eye or keep it open as shown in this photo.

If the eyeball is closed that means the Cricut Machine, won’t cut this layer when you decide to cut.

Think you can control what the Cricut Machine sees to cut.

Show Hide Feature

The Global Show/Hide allows you to turn everything On or Off depending on the position of the eyeball.

MTC Time Saver Tip:

It may be easier to hide the entire project then go back to the individual layers to turn on each eyeball you want to cut.

Locking / Unlocking

You use the lock by clicking on the button. Once lock a layer you can no longer edit or move that layer. If you would like to be able to edit or move that layer, it is just a simple click to unlock it.

The Cricut Machine will still cut that layer even if it is locked.
