The LUMINTELL™ network collects data from sensors that are installed
in or on the LED luminaires. This provides useful smart data, which can

THE INTEGRATED AND DISCREET SOLUTION
Installed inside the luminaire, the LUMINTELL™ system consists of two different types of hardware: one Luminaire Control Unit (LCU) and one Cluster Control Unit (CCU). The LCU is built-into each luminaire, interconnecting them via wireless technology thanks to the discreet antenna.
Some luminaires are strategically selected as gateways and are designed with an integrated CCU that wirelessly connects to the cloud-based control and monitoring platform (www.lumintell.city).
In both applications, there is no need for additional cabinets or Ethernet connections!

LUMINTELLTM EMBEDDED
THE PLUG-AND-PLAY AND COST-EFFECTIVE SOLUTION
Adaptable to existing street lighting infrastructure, scalable and immediately operable, the LUMINTELL™ Node is a wireless control unit mounted to a NEMA socket on each luminaire. This enables the transmission of information and the reception of control commands to the luminaire’s LED.
Each Node can be installed on any existing or newLED lighting fixture, no matter the model or manufacturer. If the lamp doesn’t have a Nema socket, the Lumintell™ Node can be installed on the pole with the Lumintell™ Node Pole Adaptor.
The LUMINTELL™ Node connects automaticallyto the network and communicates directly with theLumintell™ Front End.

Project Reference
Novalume Smart City lighting solutions will illuminate the streets of Talca
thanks to 27,000 new LED and connected streetlights with the LUMINTELLTM
Smart City management system. The lighting installation will also be upgraded
by the capacity to generate public Wi-Fi so Talca residents can get online,
wherever they are in the city.
The switch to high performance energy-efficient LED lighting and the
LUMINTELLTM platform has resulted in drastically reduced energy consumption,
while enhancing the atmosphere and improving the quality of light. The switch
means Talca has experienced a 66% reduction in energy consumption. The
city has also lowered it’s CO2 emissions - releasing 2,227 fewer tons of CO2 into
the atmosphere each year.
The investment, including installation, has a payback period of less than 5
years with a technical lifetime of the installation of 16.7 years – more than 3
times the payback period!
