How to make a Sunday Papers Stool.......
A range of experimental products made from tight rolled newspaper. It explores their compressed life cycle and was inspired by thebundles of newspapers left outside shops on a Saturday night, (whenthey are delivered for sale on Sunday) which have a cultural andeconomic value, and that the same product has a different set ofvalues by Monday morning (when they are ready to be returned tothe wholesaler), in that the news is old news and their value is forpulp. I wondered that if by simply repackaging, the material lifecycle could be extended and a new product produced. At the end of the seats life it can still be pulped.
I have made this PDF of how to make a Sundaypapers Stool available in the spirit of openness andtrying to encourage people to look at the materialsaround them. Only use these notes if you arecompetent and that suitable supervision is given atall times when required. I can accept no liabilityif anyone hurts or injures them selves or othersfrom following these notes. I think it is fair to saythat common sense and safety should rule the day.
Use any paper or magazine you can gethold of. Consider if the ink will come offand be a problem, be careful of papercuts if using magazines and watch outfor staples. you will also need some longscrews and scotch tape
Bradawl, electric screw driver, twolugage straps, strapping or old belts,or string, or old school ties or gaffertape or shoe laces or.............?
